I understand making art for art's sake and drawing for myself but as an animators, the thought of posting my work to little to no viewers makes me feel like I'm shouting into the void or babbling to myself in a padded cell. I genuinely feel insane. I even make DVDs of my animations that no one has bought and I just watch them in my room alone. This can't be healthyPic rel not my art obviously
>>7755073Based and schizo pilled
>>7755073Thats kind of cool though, and ive thought of that too. Go analog bro. Sell your shit on dvds at cons. Thats how a lot of things like indie movies and such got passed around before the internet. That way you dont have to worry about bullshit shadow bans and algos.(my twitter got locked down despite paying for that fucking blue check mark.)Also, pwy ya dingus.
You need to make friends. If you can't then you will not be successful. I'm sorry.
>>7755124Tell that to the chinks and nips who dont socialize. All they do is post quality work on time routinely while not saying a damn thing.
>>7755165They know better than stupid white "artists" who do everything short of posting their own buttholes on social media. They have friends and socialize in their private Discord servers and LINE group chats.
>>7755165They socialize in places that actually help them like art cons
>>7755073Same. I gotten to a point where I'm good and have just been relying on retweets from random bigger artist here n there. This shit makes me go mental but everyone got a start somewhere. Idk if making friends really helps or not but idk where one would even start to do that online.
>>7755165What's with the retarded immediate deflection? You are one stupid faggot.
>>7755198>why arent you taking what i say a doctrine?!?!?!?!Well im rubber youre glue, etc.
>>7755073I'll watch it. I'm worth 100k views
>>7755170>>7755174Talking to your art friends will make you better at art(not always, but doesnt hurt your chances). Wont make your stuff likeable to normies browsing social media.
marketing skill issues.
People in here are mixing up industry success with social media popularity. You make art friends to get jobs, networking. they wont get you a billion views on tiktok.
>>7755073Didn't read the thread but I'll watch whatever you've made, anon.
To which sites do you post?
>>7755073>shouting into the void or babbling to myself in a padded cellI live like this dailyMaybe bite the bullet without hitting rock bottom out of misery first.. First step is leaving the toxic bitter shithole that is /ic/
>>7755073I'd rather have a small but consistent audience of a few hundred people than to be super popular at one point, only to steadily lose viewers. That's far more sad, imo. I've seen it so many times, YouTubers who once had millions of views to now post to maybe 10k at best
>>7755073You'd think more indie animators would release their shit on DVD or Blu-ray. Burning discs isn't super expensive either, unless you're trying to have them glass pressed like retail copies
>>7755351>First step is leaving the toxic bitter shithole that is /ic/Holy shit this. I still browse here (I need to stop) but I stopped posting and literally any other place is very positive and welcoming. It doesn't matter if you art good or bad at art, /ic/ is very negative and not good for your art journey or mental health/self confidence.
>I understand making art for art's sake and drawing for myself Well-->but as an animatorsOh I see.Yeah when your entire "art making" career is based on being a slave in a long line of manufacturing then of course you cannot appreciate the practice, 90% of the time your medium is pure labor devoid of anything else. Don't worry about it, fine art Gods will handle it, you just get back to work ok?
>>7755073you have to actually be insane and sick in the head to pursue frame by frame animation, its part of the jobno normal person would put themselves through the grueling task of hundreds of sketches, inkings, filling colors/shadows/highlights for a measly 10 seconds of outputyou either quit or learn to embrace it, because im telling you 90% of them dont even care if anyone sees their work, they only get satisfaction from playing back stuff to themselves
>>7755073Almost no one truly makes art "for themselves". That's just how people are able to sleep at night so they don't rope
