hello /ic/, i recently starting drawing again after pretty much giving up. i wasn't happy with where i was at after drawing for years and work had caught up to me. i was always the "art kid" in school, drew a bunch of anime and fandom art, but never really truly studied fundamentals and so i stagnated and got especially discourage during college when people my age were making some really beautiful stuff (i'm 25 now). i've spent the last few weeks trying to draw every day, seeing things through, and posting my stuff in discord servers for feedback. have also been watching youtubers like oridays and pikat. this past week i've done some 3d geometry drills and worked on my lighting by compositing in mikumikudance. i wanted to share what i perceive as improvement. while we're at it, are there art youtubers you particularly like?

Nice Mikus, keep it up :)
I don't watch a lot of art YouTube, not consistently, but pikat is good, I sometimes watch lavendertown - but more for fun than advice. JakeDon'tDraw seems good from what little I've seen.

I would just wholesale avoid art youtube personally. Just by the nature of how social media engagement works, they have to be very dogmatic and sensationalist to the point where no matter what they're basically just lying to you.

If you get stuck, look it up, watch the youtube video for suggestions and try again. But do not watch more and do not subscribe. After the problem is solved, forget they exist.
