There are plenty of very popular artists who only ever draw their OCs. It's the trend-chasing fan art artists who are compensating.You'll have an easy time on social media if your OCs are interesting and your art is visually appealing, regardless of the subject. Commissions are 99% "draw my OC" almost no one commissions fan art.Having weird interests is a plus.
