Is this strategy for webtoon good?
basically have a main story (long) but also post short, standalone stories (not related to the long one) to "fish" subscriptors. Given that the first chapter is usally the one that has the most views, i think posting a series of short stories on the side would be good to grab subscriptors no?

In the context of comics and social media
Through the years ive seen that being to "friendly" with your followers can be rather negative in the long run (eventual drama). So ive been thinking about how much interaction shoul i keep
Ive thought of just posting with comments locked but its too much
Maybe posting and not saying anything?

Be like a mangaka. Stay anonymous, don't argue with fans or be political. Post content, be humble and polite and make more content.

Why should I tell you lol? I hope you get caught in drama and stop being a competitor.

Link to the essay?

Okay, by being anonymous you mean not revealing even a bit of information about myself right? not even things like age or occupation

Those are all good strategies for building your name up. A few extra tips:
>Consistent updates are key. Make sure your long webtoon has a regular release schedule, preferably once per week to retain interest.
>Make sure to post at a good time of day too, preferably not during a rush hour where many other authors post their works.
>Consider making as much of the comic as you feel comfortable making BEFORE posting the first chapter, as that gives you a buffer if you suddenly find yourself in a position where it's hard to produce for a week.
>If possible, get a friend you can trust to keep a secret to review your works as you make them. They might spot something you should correct or build upon, like a plot hole or an unintended ship dynamic.
>Keep as many personal details and beliefs private as you are willing to. People will unfairly judge a work before even reading it based on what they know about the author, so avoid giving them any sort of base to work with. The exception is if you're writing about a specific topic that you have professional knowledge in (e.g. if you make a comic centered around carpentry and are yourself a carpenter), in which case claiming that on your profile increases your credibility.
>If you don't like acting stonefaced with your fans, you can try concisely answering some of their more neutral questions on social media so long as you ignore the controversial ones. For instance, it's harmless to answer someone asking what a character's favorite color is. Answering questions like that can help build a positive rapport without defining who you are.
>Keep comment sections open, but avoid replying to anyone, good or bad. Let your works speak for themselves.
Good luck out there anon.
