When it comes to comic making, is having an enjoyable but flawed story arguably way more important than having an actually well written one as long as core fundamentals like panel layout and reading flow are professional enough?

Most anime fans do not venture outside of the medium and thing that it;s a complex story because of all the weeb shit they were eating before hand. I could never get into it because I found out about it when I was too old (that and tokyo ghoul) but I bet edgy teen me would've loved it.
