The unfortunate truth for every hobby. My job can be done completely remote yet I am forced to commute.
I dont know bro, cant relate, I go to my work place on foot.
>>7769029>My job can be done completely remote yet I am forced to commute.Same here. It is completely retarded that they make me go, but at least I know that if they were willing to hire remote, I wouldn't have gotten the job in the first place.
>>7769029>>7769029Can't relate. I'm progressing much faster than a lot of unemployed anons here. Just cause they have time doesn't mean they're actually drawingAlso, a large part of professionals are employed, so what are you even talking about?
What the fuck is that even about anyways, do companies just hate that their workers have more freetime? A one hour commute is unreasonable.
I work remote and have 0 motivation to do anything
>>7769059I am just complaining. I want more time to draw because I enjoy drawing but I have to sleep so I can commute in the morning
>>7769072Yeah ok, that I can relate to.
Got a really dope new job where I'm basically unemployed. I sit in a cubicle all day and refresh outlook once an hour and answer two emails which take a minute or two each. Once a week I have a meeting for 90 minutes.Only downside is it's a bullpen style so everyone is always staring at me drawing. It works very well though because all the tedious shit like masking I can do on my iPad at work and then I just transfer the PSD at home
>>7769216Drawing with an audience of non artist in a work environment sounds anxiety inducing
>>7769218Its not so bad. I've been there for a few months and most of them leave me alone. I don't draw anything that isn't sfw so it's all non offensive stuff like background layouts and stuff.
>>7769029I'm unemployed so i guess I win
>>7769029got a remote job, thought I would get to draw moreturns out that I can't really focus on drawing while working (your mileage may vary) and I actually doodle less at home, for some reason (my cintiq is right here, I can just draw at any time)and then the day ends and the last thing I want to do is sit at my desk to drawmaybe I need to come up with a way to separate the working spaces, but my house is tinyor maybe I will make excuses for not drawing no matter what
>>7769751I think separate work spaces is a good idea. Your brain probably associates the current one with unfun tiresome job stuff so just sitting there puts you in that mindset. I live in a small room as well best I can say is use any table or extra desk you have as a possible space to draw or work
>>7769751look into coworking spaces in your local area, or renting a small office, or just going out to random parks and cafes when the weather allows it. i drew way more when i worked in an office, despite having less free time. working from home isn't a panacea, you need to make a clean mental break from workplace to habitat, and that becomes infinitely more difficult when you don't have any physical separation of the two.and for goodness sake, do not move your home office into the bedroom - you'll just associate your bedroom with work instead of rest and will suffer countless sleepless nights.
>>7769029>ENTER an artist who is employed part-time
>>7769062>>7769072I used to spend 5 hours commuting every day to work. I would sleep on the bus and then stay up 5 hours later at home to draw. I did this for almost 10 years.
Hope I can get to the Itagaki art-tism level some day
when you're unemployed, it takes more energy to draw productively. If you have a job, you can go from working at your job to drawing right after and you're still in "work mode". A neet has to peel himself off the bed and then resist fapping, gaming, anime, rotting, fapping, doomscrolling, sleeping, fapping, and killing himself in order to even BEGIN drawing that day. And since you have the entire day to draw, there's no sense of value for the time you have.
>>7771124Until you feel your life clock ticking most artist will stay where they are
>>7771127Thats why most anons 15 years ago are now dead
>>7771124Exactly. Holy shit.
>>7771124This. Takes a lot of effort to draw instead of killing myself.
>>7769029wait until you find out you can be employed as an artist.
I haven't laughed at an image here for a while. Thank you
>>7771124Yeah without a established schedule with no clear structure and goals you just kind of become inactive both in the body and mindI fucking hate working as much as the next anon does but if it wasn't for my studies I'd pretty much do nothing at allA lot of people need to manage their time better if they want to draw while putting money on the table
>>7771124Spot on. I know I'm gonna sound like a golem but having a job or something does bring structure into your life and constantly reminds you of the value of time. That means that you either need to get one or create one for yourself.I used to be a NEET and it has taken me a long time to even understand what the cause of my constant low drive was. You blink and a month has passed. Need to put up deadlines and constantly shock yourself with reminders of how little time you actually have, basically turning art into a job if you want to make it anywhere. And its very easy to slip and go back into monkey habits of doing fuckall if you're not careful.
