I had to cut a lot of corners this year. I was planning on doing 2 a day and finishing by the 16th, but it’s the 28th and i am barely finishing on time. The whole date is arbitrary. The interesting part is seeing how far people will go to make the arbitrary date. Who cuts corners and who goes balls deep and just blows the deadline. But i jsut like inktober because for one month it seems like everyone is united drawing and struggling to meet a fictitious line in the sand, and it’s fun to draw together.

I'm at a stage of my art where I'm trying to pare back excessiveness - though that said I might be trending too much towards simplicity. But also my biggest weakness is how long the ideation takes, I make many concepts before landing on what I post here. Trying to hone my creativity is why I do Inktober - my life is generally uncreative so for one month I enjoy sharpening that side of my brain. Which dovetails into what tableguy said about unity - being able to see what others do in the thread with the same prompt and the same deadlines also motivates me to see how I can improve.
