How do I make something like this? I'm totally new to any form of art, never sculpted or drew anything before. Obviously I won't have it made of bronze or anything like that. I'm making a maquette in the italian futurist style. I like the energy and dynamism it invokes. My plan is: >roughly a foot to 16 inches tall>plywood base>make basic form with armature wire>cut cardboard to size and shape, flesh it out>attach cardboard to wire, and wooden base>make separate "structures" toward the bottom out of cardboard>cover with plaster bandage>???I really really want to try making stuff like this, I just think it's so cool. My intention is to basically copy this, though probably with a lot less detail due to my lack of experience and skill. I'd consider it a study, if that's the right way to use. I'm having difficulty really finding any videos or information on sculpting this way, it's all about clay.
Fen's work is ephemeral and unsound on the ideological substrate he builds on, likely to be toppled by the next movement someone tries to force. It's not too late to wean himself off of it. His group will do us all a disservice if they fail and are made an example of to prove 'trad movements don't work'.You really want to copy that? Start with clay or anything you have laying around.
>>7774714Who is fen? This is Umberto boccioni.
>>7774716Guy doing what you're trying to do, for starters.
>>7774729Ok
>>7774714Fen who?
>>7774756I have no idea. This freak just came in my thread and started spewing some shit.
>>7774703this looks pretentious
>>7774761I figured you were inspired by Fen and I was warning against larping like he is, since he's getting more popular recently.>I really really want to try making stuff like this, I just think it's so cool. You just have to jump into it then with your cardboard plan if you're not going to bother with clay. >I'd consider it a study, if that's the right way to use.Do it, then do variations on the same theme. Make the most out of the form and your medium.
>>7774703That's a pretty complex form and given the fact you don't know shit I'd consider it an impossible task to even closely reproduce this shape. Start with something more simple and get to know your tools and especially your material. How it behaves, what kind of corrections and mistakes it allows and so on. Jumping right into this will steal your motivation before you were even able to start.
>>7774761fuck off with your inane bullshit chuddy
