What I usually do after making something like this, I ink it, and then I’m done. I’m too scared to add more details like shading and realism like how I usually intend. I think: “Oh, I’m gonna make this awesome shaded drawing!” But I just can’t after a certain point. Am I just retarded?

Adding more details to that would be like polishing a turd. You need to work on the fundamentals and actually put a little effort into your sketches before you try to flesh them out

You’re right honestly, I rush the shit out of these drawings and get them done within 10-15 minutes for a quick dopamine hit. That’s the real issue. Ive always wanted to do colored pencil work but never have gotten to doing a full piece since I see those tutorials and they always say that it takes multiple hours of layering and burnishing.

don't rush then. It's fine to doodle and shit out a dozen 5 min turds as warm up/practice, but now and then commit to one good, slower piece. Do an underdrawing instead of jumping straight to final lines, make sure the proportions, shapes, placement, etc. is good before drawing over it one final time. And for detail, study art you like. Find other pencil or ink drawings and try to understand how they used lines, shapes, and color to give the impression of detail.
Probably do some actual studies too, try to copy finished images as best you can, while trying to understand what the artist was thinking when making each mark, then try doing your own using those ideas.
