It feels like I'm hugging the /int/ wall and all it takes is for me to stop winging it half the time.
My honest to god biggest issue that I can see for myself is moving objects in 3D space and how they overlap with eachother (and folds but that's just practice). Something along the lines of foreshortening but with multiple objects or simply making several elements behind eachother look like something in actual 3d space.
Did anything help you fellas for it to finally click? Or do you see any more issues with my lack of drawing prowess?

unironically loomis. specifically figure drawing for all it's worth. the whole book. not just up to page 5.
>>
which parts of your image are the most off in your eyes. if you can’t see your own mistakes, you're not going to make it.

you're practicing mistakes and internalizing them to your muscle memory. some of your lines are not great.

if you can’t feel the form you're drawing, don’t draw it. figure it out first then draw it. 3d forms on paper are 2d shapes. if you can’t figure it out, go practice more drills given to you by people who have.

if you want to have fun drawing have fun drawing. if you want to get good, practice away your mistakes until you stop making them.

I'll check if my country got a copy, thank u anon

I do have to improve my linework ye. I can feel the form, just not draw a fluid motion or object in a way it gives it depth to the eye; picrel is one that I felt happy with, however the right leg, the one which needs the most depth perception, is a clusterfuck as I dont know how to layer objects.
I would appreciate some pointers from you, mister.
>>
honestly, even now youre doing good and being too hard on yourself. i think you just need a bit more practice with perspective and shading really
>>
>>7776512
You are not anywhere near /int/, but don't take that as an insult. What you have is good for a beginner, but keep in mind that you have a far way to go until you really start to understand what you're doing.

You NEED to learn your 3d forms. This is not optional, this is not optional, this is not optional. You aren't going to get anywhere with any other skill until you do it. Learn your boxes and cylinders.

Not to be rude but you're high /beg/ at best. Your lines feel very wobbly, the shapes you use for the body and even the starmie are unconventional and never something you'd see an actual professional pokemon card illustrator do for example. You need to follow the general /ASG// advice, and improve your shape language. I think the way you draw faces are decent but not great. The composition and idea behind the piece is cute. Just keep trying and you may be able to make it someday.

SOMEONE has to be hard on me otherwise I wont improve!
>>7776672
it does feel like once I'm done with this particular hurdle I can blaze through so much of what I hated in my drawings and reach a new peak. I can do boxes and cylinders but I have a hard time picturing more complex angles for many objects like shoes..
>>
>>7776889
>I can do boxes and cylinders
I remain doubtful. You're making very significant mistakes in areas that are directly analogous to simple cylinders, most noticeably around the wrists and ankles.
>>
>>7776650
i think you are Australian. Second guess is New Zealand. Third is Irish.
>>
>>7776925
I'm south american!
>>7776906
do please point them out cus I cant correct mistakes if idk what they are!
>>
>>7776930
interesting! i saw the kadmium pen/pencil and other pencil made in Germany with the word "synthetics" on it, and i didnt notice any horribly cold lighting, so this surprises me. very cool. i would say you are high beg with the assumption that these images are from reference, otherwise low-mid int.
>>
>>7776936
reference on character and pose, I did have to think on how hoodie would flow (I cant, I winged it)
>>
>>7776930
Which direction do you think that arm on the left is facing?

yes he is, crab

Which fundamental is he proficient in?
>>

Drawing
>>
>>7776969
Please do not do this. He requires a little more studies in anatomy, perspective and gesture. He has potential, but needs to improve.
>>
>>7776949
Not OP, but this actually clears it up for me. Thanks
>>
>>7776512
You already have the idea what you want to draw, this is the good time to learn from whatever book you choose, to fix that anatomy and perspective.

Drawing manuals/videos are useless if you don't even know what you want to draw.
>>
>>7776512
This is good because you had an idea and finished it. That’s a lot more than 99% of this board. Now it’s time to study perspective and anatomy to touch up your skills and you’re golden. I believe in you anon.
