How to plan realistic values in a painting? or maybe appealing to... half million clicks or traffics.
What's the science, or just...the diagram, given the composition ready.
Also draw upside down/rotated in 2d while keeping the original result alike
>>
Simply invert your value structure, find a path, forward or backward, that makes the light either lit or dark depending on your position to the frame. fully dependent on your eyes, the lights brightness and the surroundings. natural light = natural traffic. think on it.

>How to plan realistic values in a painting?
Use perspective, search "how to draw shadows in perspective" and you'll find the explanation, it relies on light angle and light direction, coming from a light source which can be found either in or outside of the picture plane and will be used as guide to cast shadows in your objects. After that, you use the typical value grouping that everyone talks about when showing spheres, that is matter of taste as long as you respect the value groups (even if you omit certain values like reflected light or paint with flats).
Try trust your perspective channel, he has videos on the matter.
