>Want to draw
>Have more than 72 hours of wholly uninterrupted free time
>Open up.drawabox, Loomis and Brigman pdfs alongside a couple of youtube tutorials
>Think about drawing heavily but dont do it
>Keep not doing it
>Now less than 24 hours of.u interrupted of free time remain and still not s bit closer to drawing than i was before
>Even if i did draw it takes like 2000 hours to be good so there will be no reward for doing it instead of thinking about doing it.
Why am i like that?
>>
>>7779850
Why are you opening like 15 different tutorials? Too many cooks in the kitchen, pick one thing and settle on that. And if you don't want to do studies then just doodle something simple until you feel like it.
>Even if i did draw it takes like 2000 hours to be good so there will be no reward for doing it instead of thinking about doing it.
that's fucking bullshit, if you focus on a few select topics you will get good at that in a fraction of the time. Just start
>>

>drawabox
Kek, you'll never be an artist
>>
you already made a thread howie
>>

What resource should i use instead?
>>7779986
Sorry.
>>7779857
I dont know what to doodle. I could copy a bit ig but id rathwr do exercises i think. I'm glad it doesnt take literally 2k hours to get decent. I have yet to get started though

>refusal to watch moatdd video catalog even though it’s free and would take you from beg to int in under a year no bullshit.
>insists instead on buying 1000 other irrelevant big name goofball courses that look good but have no substance
You’re on the right track OP. Any day now.

People like these will never be good at anything

Either drawing isn't for you or you have ADHD.
>>
>>7779850
>Why am i like that?
It doesn't matter.
Next time you know that you'll have enough time to draw, write a to-do list the previous night, and just follow it before doing anything else (that might distract you).

>I dont know what to doodle.
What made you pick up a pencil in the first place anon? Do that
>I'm glad it doesnt take literally 2k hours to get decent.
It does if you want to be good at a bunch of things but just getting good at sketching and basic coloring doesn't take anywhere as long, it's a skill like any other

OP, first define what "good" means to (you)
If by good you mean that you can draw anything then 2k is too much time but if you mean top 1% in the world then that's not enough, more like 10k.
>I used to feel the same way but that's because studies are boring, just make fanart of stuff you like while learning new art concepts, like why not draw Goku's deltoid instead of a Loomis deltoid?
>You can post the timelapse on Youtube or the final pic on social media to get likes and views if you're into that meaningless bullshit too

What is Monatd?

:( sad but true

>What made you pick up a pencil in the first place anon?
In all honesty probably Grappler Baki but there'a nothing comparable i could draw at my skill level. I dont know art well enough to know if its ass or gas but from where i'm standing the way it exaggerates anatomy is pretty much master status.

do you really want to believe pseudoscientific mumbo-jumbo from a jew?

Baki is based
You could copy what he does anyways. You won't get good results at first but it's a good exercise, and it'll point you towards the things you need to study most. That applies to any artist you love.

just draw doesn’t matter if it’s ugly
>>
>>7781020
>doesn’t matter if it’s ugly
Yes it does. When it comes out nothing like what you were trying to draw it's the worst feeling ever.
>>
>>7781021
No one plays a jazz instrumental for the first time he picks up a guitar, you shouldn’t expect beautiful masterpieces the first time you pick up a pencil either
>>
>>7781021
ngmi, if the act of creating itself isn't enjoyable for you then it's over
>>
>>7781025
It doesn't have to be a masterpiece, it just has to not be total shit.
>>7781028
It would be enjoyable but the frustration from it being all wrong is stronger.
>>
stop making excuses to not do shit and just do it dumbass. turn the screen off and draw whats immediately to your left.
>>
>>7781021
train yourself to not be so emotional over your work. it does not represent you, you do not represent it, the outcome will not impact you.
>>
>>7781088
genuinely, when i stopped being emotional over my art my skill skyrocketed in a week. it should not matter if you're wrong. it should not be frusterating. it should not matter if it's complete shit. the only thing that matters is if it's complete (not finished, complete. done with.). if there's mistakes, note that without getting upset, then watch out for and fix those mistakes in the next drawing. learn to be neutral and learn to move on.
>>
>>7781106
>it should not matter if you're wrong. it should not be frusterating. it should not matter if it's complete shit
It should not, but it absolutely does. It certainly doesn't help that my regulatory system is worn out by constant stress without any outlet, overblowing the effort required and undervaluing every positive outcome.
>>
it's the sharty troll isn't it?
>>
>>7781108
if you don't overcome that then you'll continue to avoid drawing and never get better. stop making excuses, stop allowing yourself to be like this. read some therapy workbooks, find an outlet, whatever. either better yourself or continue to be stuck like this forever.
>>
>>7781114
>if you don't overcome that then you'll continue to avoid drawing and never get better
I was hoping to use drawing as a small actionable habit that would help me take back some control and make visible if small progress, but instead it's only pulling me in deeper.
>stop making excuses, stop allowing yourself to be like this
It's not like I'm consciously choosing to do this instead of "just getting better". If I could magically "just get better" you think I wouldn't by now?

It's a very loose definition. Are you trying to say there aren't personalities who give up easily? There's a reason "the first 10% is 90% of the work" is a saying.
>>
>>7781158
>Are you trying to say there aren't personalities who give up easily?
Yes. It's not an intrinsic unchangeable trait.
>>
>>7781139
bro i told you what to do to get better. work on seeing your work neutrally. read through therapy workbooks. find a healthy emotional outlet (ie, exercise). to me, you sound like you're unwilling to do anything because you view yourself as unchangeable and are using your emotions as an excuse to stay stagnant. you do not have to be bogged down by that shit, you can change and get better at art, but continuing to allow your emotions to stop you will result in you not growing. you could use art as a method to train yourself to view things neutrally, or you could keep getting angry everytime you draw something shitty and then procrastionate for a month to avoid getting angry. if you refuse to change your habits, then you're making excuses to stop yourself from getting better.
>>
>>7781272
>procrastionate for a month to avoid getting angry
Way to hit the nail on the head. Damn. Procrastination really is a discomfort avoidance behavior first and foremost.
>>

the artist you recomended is does not have good fundies to teach lol
