Hey anon, let's draw this for practice. /ic/ collectively did this one years ago and that thread was a lot of fun.
holy trips. ok, I will do it.
>>7780784*
i lost interest half way through but eh
>>7781716I like it. the lost interest part adds a cool flair
>>7780830he looks slightly less masculine and mine >>7781716 looks slightly more masculine i feel. but i like your clean work. how long did you take aprox.?
>>7780777
>>7781749>how long did you take aprox.?nta but why is this significant to you?
>>7781764well, i took about 2 hours, i'd like to know if he took longer or less for his cleaner output, despite digital probably aiding in speedy results
>>7781749It took about an hour and a half. I painted the whole thing with a soft airbrush, making it smaller/larger depending on the edge. the soft brush might also explain the masculine/feminine aspect, it wasn't intentional, I'd need to spend longer making more defined planes here and there.
Mechanical pencil is really bad for this.
>>7781792just a manner of putting in the time i guess, i use mine mostly for doodling in general but not for piecework or shadow and value practice like this head is good for. good effort though, trying is half the battle
>>7780777>/ic/ collectively did this one years agowew you are old, i remember that thread too
>>7780777I'll do it tomorrow
>>7782039>>7782113i enjoy seeing this thread having more participants than the bride of frankie thread. it's a fun subject. good work, anons.
>>7780777>777>JackpotI'm a /BEG/ and I don't draw since june because I thought that drawing is boring but I just realized that it's actually fun, I was focusing too much on improving instead of having fun like now, thanks OP.
I know the proportions are off, but critique is welcome.
>>7782209fun is crucial>>7782220you made it your own. i wouldve just sold it as a stylized version instead of being honest, heh. you shouldnt dismiss the shadows, they will help you angle and size up everything. it might take a lot longer, but every bit that helps will pay off in the end. drawing a shadow heavy portrait almost feels like cheating to me, because you have so many shapes that help you check your shit and it just looks better in general.
>>7782225The shadows are a good point. Always scared of the steep render learning curve but blocking in shadows isn't that hard. Thank you.
>>7780777I tried, but I suck too much.
critique please
>>7780777i don't like it, but glad I tried it
idk lol i got bored]
