I been doing a exercise from the drawing from right side of the brain

I hate the result. What am I doing worng?

Do Bargue instead

what?

I'd say try a different book. Frankly, I think all the "draw X upside down", or "draw 100 boxes" stuff is bullshit.
Find a book that will at least make you draw things you find appealing, so you'll at least enjoy your drawing exercises.

Not bad for someone who I assume is just starting out. It looks off because the proportions are off. The head for example is significantly bigger in the ref image.
Honestly, a lot of this comes down to mileage, if you keep copying you will improve rapidly

Ateliers have you copy Charles Bargue plates to teach how to draw

uh no

You expect instant result?

of course

You're still learning how shapes interact with each other. You're gonna have to grind a lot more hours before you get better. Hope this helps

Seems like you're doing well to me. You'd be doing way worse if you were to copy conventionally. Just keep going

care to tell why?

Nah this is good for being new. Nothing's going to give you an amazing output at this point, the exercise is only to help focus on drawing only what you're looking at and not embellishing it with your preconceptions. I don't think you need to do it more than once.

you're rushing it, not observing the drawing correctly and measuring every angle and size right. this takes time, especially in the beginning. you have to go back and forth between your drawing and reference and compare all the shapes and lines with each other and you'll slowly get to the point where you take your time and concentrate on trying to do it right.

i feel beginners often underestimate the time it takes for drawing something like this
