Amidst all the generic anime crap, I saw some Studio Ghibli stuff, but I came across this artist, Eisaku Kubonouchi. Do you know of any other artists with similar styles?
>>7796449>Complains about generic anime style>Posts a generic anime style asking for recommendations about people with similar styles (generic anime style)Amazing, comical, even. Sometimes this boards alright.
>>7796466I don't think that guy's style is generic but I agree OP made the thread shit by asking specifically for styles similar to that (he can do that shit on his own.)Would prefer a "non-generic anime styles in general" thread.
>>7796469Maybe its just me that have on the internet for too long and have seen all the different flavors of anime style so I dont find that that unique, I will concede there.>Would prefer a "non-generic anime styles in general" threadThat would turn into a west vs east thread very quickly and very hard, at the end of the day if you want non generic anime styles you go to DeviantArt, its that simple. I honestly dont see a point in making "style" threads, theyre pointless every time.
>>7796475You don't need to concede, it's sort of a halfway point desu. In the linework you can recognize his personal stylistic quirks, but the proportions and shapes he uses aren't that uncommon.I'm pretty sure the OP artist was the same guy who did designs for a recent anime, Astro Notes I think it was.>That would turn into a west vs east thread very quickly and very hard, at the end of the day if you want non generic anime styles you go to DeviantArt, You think so? Last I checked there was a fuckload of AI there, I dunno if western artists really use that anymore
>>7796475>if you want non generic anime styles you go to DeviantArtno need to go through slopbrowse through pixiv's yearly Visions artbooks and you can find great stuff in a variety of styles

>>7796530>You think so? Last I checked there was a fuckload of AI there, I dunno if western artists really use that anymoreIve been here for too long dude, in my mind its still 2015, I forget that DA is fucking dead and only populated by AI now and all the outlandish content the site made itself famous with is no longer produced. Where do westerners even post their stuff anymore? Twitter feels to mixed with generic anime stuff seeking to make numbers, Newgrounds? Only oldfags post there at this point. Pixiv? Thats just japanese DA and only anime stuff are posted there, thats the whole point of the site. This is so dystopian.>>7796566This is the only thing that catches my eye, and its because of how cartoony it is, it distances itself away from the usual anime stuff. The rest of the thing you posted dont feel that special, personal or even weird and janky like old DA used to be.

low cognitive resolution in action
I'll just list a few. Umezawa Michikobeen a fan of hers the moment a d/ic/k posted one of her works years ago, made me go "oh my god!". clearly knows anatomy and realistic drawing inside out while committing to a stylized look. seems to be part of that wave of westaboo japanese artists that were drawing similarly deformed pictures in the late 2000s and early 2010s. i initially assumed they were influenced by Cartoon Network's lineup at the time (specifically adventure time) but now I wonder it wasn't the influence of Taiyo Matsumoto? every single character in every one of her drawings has a signature teardrop and drool.

>>7796449>Eisaku KubonouchiHis Tsurumoku Dokushin Ryou manga didn't look like the latter art style Eisaku will be known for.Kubonouchi is probably one of those people that copied Masakazu Katsura's art style, when it became the cool art style among Japanese mangaka in mid to late 90s.
>>7796466>t. low cognitive resolution nigga
>>7796802>t. narrowly fixated on anime to the detriment of perspective
>>7796469 I just looked for recommendations, since several here consume manga and anime in theory they have more knowledge about manga authors.
>>7796449Any good books filled with B&W cute girl sketches like OP's?The closest I've found:- Tanaka Kunihiko's Rough Archive- Yoshida Toru's Tips for Drawing Women
I like how loose his work ismakes it look absolutely effortless

>>7796572>Where do westerners even post their stuff anymore? We don't. The market is dead. Even if you're going into drawing niche fetish stuff to get boosted you're going to get blocked by UK and USA's law because they can't even see it without ID.Maybe, just maybe, you could make it on Twitter if you were already famou- yeah actually nevermind. There is just no way if you're starting from zero unless you get not just lucky, but astronomically lucky to make something trend-defining like that guy who tried to draw an upwards camera angle on a face of a popular anime's most popular girl.(which already would have been enough 5-10 years ago, but now you also need to get astronomically lucky on top)
>>7797404Damn it I forgot. Some websites are also dumb enough to think that UK law is the entire EU's law, like Twitter. Yes, Twitter blocks adult pictures in the entire EU now too. So basically the two civilized continents are blocked. Chinks already had a ban on it as far as I'm aware, with some weirder rules but a ban nonetheless.

>>7796466I get than generic anime styles are appealing a lot of the time, but fuck it's so rare to actually find variety>inb4 but anime isn't a styleyou know what I mean
Inspired by El Lissitzky
>>7800826It's not the style, it's the content. Anime is particularly incestuous in a way that just recycles ideas into nothing. People who draw anime don't draw things they like in anime style, they don't like things that aren't anime. They draw anime things in anime style. And then they copy the other people drawing anime things. And after awhile you just get a bland paste made of nothing but four layers of malappropriated tropes stapled together without the slightest hint of self-awareness.
