I started drawing earlier this year at 31. Is there really no hope to enter the art industry in any way?
Art is the one thing that everyone can do. All you have to do is literally just copy and you can make cool art. The industry is just nepotism, so no you probably won’t get into the industry but it has nothing to do with your age.
>>7798364By the time you were born this comic was over. You will never experience the joy of reading Calvin and Hobbes in the Sunday paper.
There’s no hope your neuroplasticity is already shot.
>>7798364why do you want to enter the art industry?
I'm a mid 30s boomer who has been drawing for 2 years. Yes. Yes it is.But why would you want to work with zoomers in the industry anyway?
>started drawing>already doubting yourself>asking on 4chanuh for you, yes, the other 30+ are going to make it
There's barely any hope of entering art industry even if you start at 15
imo it takes 4-6 years to get good enough to have the skills to apply for an art job. You can take shortcuts to get there faster if you are targeting specific jobs, or bitch out and go the 3d route after you learn some basic composition and drafting. I think many people are holding their breath to see if animation industry will ever recover.Adults learn things really fast btw, never understood the neuroplasticity meme unless you are competing with a 2-5yo child learning vocab (but not grammar).34, started several years ago.
>>7798364Make your own personal project, could be many illustrations, comics. Make a website put everything on the website then start networking with others
>>7798364I'll be 30 next year and I know I'll never make it professionally. I've had some comms here and there, but never enough to make a livable wage. I honestly just draw because it's one the few passions I still have left.
It is not over! As long as your health is okay you are fineI turned 30 but I have a million diseases so my time is potentially ticking but I think 90% of people who are 30 are no worse off realistically than someone starting at 20
>>7798364Sure, but do you want to spend 10 years getting contacts and hustling your way into a secure industry position? It's not a skill issue, we're just old enough to know not eat a shit sandwich when it's presented to us.
It doesn't matter how old you are , there's no art industry you can enter.
>All these boomers and none of them post their workThat should tell you everything
>>7798364Life in general ends at 30. Thankfully, art in general is also done for so it's not like you ever actually had a chance.
>>7798364No, now shut up.
>cant think of doing literally any activity without fantasizing about doing it professionallypeople nowadays dont know what a hobby is or what? Why the fuck does everything have to be a side hustle?Cant you just do things for the sake of enjoyment or just to get good at it?
>>7798364pick up the pencil, learn as fast as you can while your neurons give out one-by-one. you may have a decade or two of good eyesight left to draw big tiddy foxes.
>>7798364it don't matter what age you start, maybe, maybe it dose, but you should not worry about that, you should worry if you're gonna take the hobby seriously or not.
>>7800846i forgot to add a reddit quote for you, 30+ anon
The question of age is always retarded when dealing with art. You can literally do it as long as your hands work and you aren't retarded. Do it now
Learn to use AI and photobash AI. Many people already do this with great success and make good money.
>>7798364Fucking hell you dorks are insufferable
>>7799916anyone you ever witness will never want to do art as a hobby exclusivelymajority of those who do it as a hobby don't bother themselves with displaying their works
>>7798364What's your IQ?
I will draw until I can no longer hold a pen, and I will still make comics yelling at my AI assistant until I can only blink at the world like Steven Hawking to resolve canon plot points.
>>7801161You have very clearly never been in an IRL art studio.Plenty of people just doing for the sake of the hobby. They do expositions once a year bit that's it.My mother has been painting her whole life as a hobbyist.Stop projecting.
>>7798525>Adults learn things really fast btw, never understood the neuroplasticity memeIt's mostly cope, but the older the person the less time free time they have(usually). All those teens/kids you see already producing artwork that's professional level or close to it have all the free time in the world. Issues would stem about joining an industry like art would be hard to break into if you're old as fuck. Mangakas/animators are dying very early due to health issues from the constant stress/work from the job. So a young body is preferred if anything.
>>7798416>neuroplasticity is already shotStart using psychedelics.
>>7798364It's only over the moment you start a family and produce child demons. You'll be set back until you can kick them out at 18. Actually no, you still have to wage beyond 65 because you still have to pay your mortgage so technically it's really over for you before it even started.
>>7798364Art is human expression and the wish to share his unique view of the world in some shape or form with others; there is no time limit on something so fundamental
>>7800846>draws little girl characters in his late 30sokay that's pathetic
>>7798364You are twenty years too late, but you can still make progress good enough for your needs. Art as a profession is over for you. Maybe you'd get skills to do it semi-professionally. That's a big maybe btw.
>>7798364If you start your art journey after you are married and have kids and a job, then yeah it's over for you. Unless you're willing to neglect your family.
how do you guys draw longer than 2 hours? That's my limit per day. If Itake a break then I never go back.
>>7806095your limit increases incrementally, just stay healthy and keep at it
>>7806325how do I grind being healthy?
>>7806095Sounds like your suffering from a mental block due to lack of confidence and overthinking. It'll decrease the more you draw and get comfortable with your capabilities instead of worrying if everything is correct
>>7799916>>cant think of doing literally any activity without fantasizing about doing it professionallyI can't participate in making a movie by just volunteering anon.
>>7798364why are zoomers so terrified of being 30my parents are 70 and their 30s are a blipyou guys act like turning 30 your life is over and you can never have fun again
>>7805902>>7804403>you can't pursue your dreams if you have a familyCOPE
>>7807234>you guys act like turning 30 your life is over and you can never have fun againBecause it's true
>>7798364What's with old people and drawing anxiety? facebook Threads, Reddit, and 4chan all have threads about this anxiety? Just draw holy shit. Work another job if you have to. Or pick up another hobby already, what the fuck
>>7807252Go ahead and prove us wrong. We aren't stopping you from doing anything or not doing anything. It's your life. Your choice.
>>7807282I think they're just afraid of not being accomplished at their age. It can be humiliating to see someone younger than you be better than you at something
>>7798416neuroplasticity is cultivated, not withered. it doesn't randomly end. I was much less able to engage different information a year ago. My mindset and thinking were boxed. Now I have a different perspective on everything, I engage new information efficiently, I learn new stuff, I adopt new opinions from ideas, I learned how to learn basically. The brain is a muscle, and like regular muscles it withers if it's not exercised.
>>7807234Life ends at 25.
