art youtube is oversaturated with useful content so all thats left is to contradict everything and imply every video is eye opening and life changing advice for clicks
>>
>>7799665
Has more published works then you faggot ass
>>
>>7799671
not just art youtube
fitness/weightlifting and guitar youtube is filled with the same style of people perpetually reinventing the wheel. the funniest part is that if youve been around long enough you can actually see it looping back around and the advice from 10 years ago starts becoming shilled again
>>
>>7799815
My Youtube account is graciously permalocked in the early 2010s thankfully probably because of its age.

The only way to find out is to try them out yourself and make your own conclusions
>>
>>7799897
woah buddy, had too much critical thinking lately?
>>
>>7799646

anon, these videos are advice, NOT programming. every artist has a different process and you can't possibly expect to be able to copy them 1-for-1 without thinking for yourself. quit being helpless

I feel like this whole “don’t draw every day, practice less” thing is the new trend? Is this just next level crabbing?
>>
>>7799935
Theyre just adapting the discourse to a generation of people who avoids effort like the plague.
>no you dont understand i want to be good but without having to put the work
>>
>Learn from me, a hardstuck intermediate one trick pony that only draws the same thing from the same angle
why is this so prevalent

They’re still all better than 99% of /ic/
>>
because its all a fucking grift

you're better off just figuring drawing out yourself
nobody wants to teach you how to draw really, not even for money, maybe hoighty toity ateliers but these cunts are wankers

these people should be on the street, it fucking disgusts me, always the same bullshit, these assholes should get a real job
>>
the california gold rush should really become common knowledge amongst the masses
>>

Which means skilled people will become more valuable. We will have to trip over some painful landmines along the way but the opportunities will be there for those who bothered to learn a skill 10 years prior. Theres going to be a whole generation of unskilled idiots the likes of which the world has ever seen, it is equal parts terrifying and exciting
>>

So there's a thing about the human brain that you don't seem to get (or you do and are just shitposting) where doing something as totally rote eventually causes your brain to shut off and stop gathering new information. The reality is that stopping and taking breaks to let what you've done sink in is generally very helpful, as is not just doing the practice bullshit forever. You are far more likely to learn something if you have a rest period in the structure or can move around and apply the skills in different ways.

Like yeah sure, the draw every day thing can EVENTUALLY be useful if you reach a point where those mental muscles flex real easy. But for anyone starting out it's almost as bad for your mental health as, say, physically working out every single day and oops blew out your calf permanently sorry!
I don't think I could've gotten to where I am if I DIDN'T stop to think about the how and why of what I'm learning and doing. Grinding in real life doesn't work unless you can find a reason to enjoy it.
>>
>>7800255
>im lazy
no one cares how low iq you are
>>
>>7799935
Yeah, exactly the same as rest days in exercise community. People always want excuses to do less.
>>
>>7800258
lmao someone got mad at being told the truth real quick.
>>
>>7800255
Are you talking like drawing all day everyday or do you really believe the brain can't cope with drawing a couple hours daily? Anyway pyw
>>
>>7800420
You got me. I don’t draw.
>>
>>7800420
I dunno who >>7800422 is, but he's not me. somebody needs to deal with this larper problem.
I work as an artist and rather routinely do 6-8 hours a day on pieces, but need to take a reset period whenever i have to move to the next medium or style requirement, else I'll end up stuck in the mental state of the previous work.

I've posted my portfolio on the board before, I'm not terribly interested in doing it again unless you desperately need to see something. either way, I worked on Chrono Gear if you need something right now.
>>
>>7800156
Those unskilled idiots wont know how to differentiate good art from AI slop though, they wont care.
>>
>>7800428
Your lived experience does not represent everyone. A lot of artists I've met do 10-15 hours, architecture students also regularly study 14 hours a day. You do need to eventually sleep but you underestimate how much the brain is able to absorb, it's limitless as in science has not determined a hard limit to how much we can learn. This whole "stop learning" thing after x time is based on nothing yet is commonly cited.
>>
>>7800463
Architecture students don't draw that much and it's a meme degree in the current year.
>>
Consider the following:
No artist ever became a great artist simply because they found the right instruction. It might marginally improve their skill in one area or another, but the underlying skill came naturall, not through instructionだよ
>>
>>7800463
>it's limitless as in science has not determined a hard limit to how much we can learn
There is no hard limit to MEMORY but generally the more you cram per day the smaller the returns get whereas taking breaks and doing shit to integrate the info works better than just trying to stuff it all in.
The brain is not magic. Focus and discipline are resources. You do not have infinite amounts of it or nobody here would need to be told to just draw.

the fact you can't quote the post properly says how dumb you are that you need it proved to you lol

Soon as you provide citations for your dozen claims.
Not gonna waste 2 hours citing papers you can't read just so you can pretend you're smart.
If you think you're right then you can go study your way and be better than this whole board in 10 years. Good luck!
>>

Other than the brain has no hard limit? There's a guy called Jazzy that got to N1 in 8.5 months. Look him up. What are the other 11 claims I've made?

>Not gonna waste 2 hours citing papers you can't read just so you can pretend you're smart.
Because they don't exist.

You haven't met these people so it makes sense you don't believe it, if I didn't meet them, I might not have either. Fact of the matter is, you gain more from believing it than not believing it. Humans are capable of a lot.
>>
>>7799646
When will you guys realize these people are trying to sustain a youtube career, not give you free advice? Click-through rates, likes, subs, engagement, this is what they care about. Hence why every video is "THIS SECRET Is What NOBODY ELSE Will TELL YOU And Will Make You A PRO In ONE YEAR!"
>>

its all the same shit as the self help industry
>>
>>7801447
The best self-help is getting into crafts like electronics, gardening or carpentry and so on.
Learning something practical by yourself gives you power over your own fate.

>>7802180
And with that power, you chose to post this on 4chan?

>>7802181

You can draw free-hand circles for 1000 hours and you still won't be able to draw a perfect circle manually.

Every single fucking digital app has a feature where you can easily make a circle, as well.

I don't know why people jerk off so much over "fundamentals" that are so banal like this. Just fucking draw what you like and learn time-honored concepts and bake them in over time. That's it.
