Just got myself a tablet and I was wondering what software I should use? links to free versions preferable. I don't know what m284jakes a good one.
>>7800587accidentally typed the capcha into my post...
Krita is free and does everything paid programs do. Be careful when choosing, the one you go with you stick with and no one has patience to learn 2 programs
You should tape cardstock over the active surface.Pick up Clip Studio Paint when it goes on sale. The one-time purchase serial key, not the subscription model they’re pushing now. Drawing software and hardware haven’t improved much since the early 2000s. Don’t assume the newest products are the best. In fact the opposite is often true. Photoshop CS6 from 2012 is probably still the most popular drawing software today.
>>7800595Ye I was trying to decide between this and clip studio paint though I've not been able to find a good torrent of CPS. I also hear paint tool sai is solid
>>7800587Adobe Photoshop 2025 26.10.0.7 (Light Version) Portable.Unfortunatly this can't use the drag&drop. Probably you have to run explorer.exe as admin, but that is hard to do, and also very unsafe.
>>7800608holy fuckpeople call me crazy for using linux and this is what adobefags get away with
>>7800587>Just got myself a tabletOH! It took me a few moments, but I was thinking you were talking about a standard desktop drawing tablet, not portable screen tablet.Doesn't everyone cum over procreate nonstop? It must be doing something right, if so.
>>7800663Nah you were right the first time I should've clarified! It's a wacom cintiq pro 16
>>7800601I was thinking that but I'm currently a poorfag tho I guess I can just use the free trial, thanks anon!
What animation software should I buy? I want to make cartoons like on newgrounds.
>>7800587>>7800670For people who draw a lot, is the Pro worth the $500 jump in price over the base model?
>>7800751I"m new to drawing so I'm probably not the best person to ask
>>7800672you can sell assets and buy activation code with clippy if you dont want to use pirated
you know you shouldn't pick me...but you're a bad boy, aren't you?
>>7800663procreate honestly isn't much. it just got popular because it was the only viable option for a while. and now the better option (CSP) needs subscription on ipad
>>7806080Procreate is still superior for all hobbyists, solely due to the fact that it's a cheap one time payment. I'd only rec CSP for working professionals
>>7800587I love using Sketchbook when drawing on my Galaxy Tab A8. Is it well regarded on /ic/ or is it too barebones?
>>7806098yeah so exactly what i said, mostly because it's the only viable option. the program itself is pretty basic imo
>>7806098>Procreate is still superior for all hobbyists, solely due to the fact that it's a cheap one time payment.Krita is free by default and does everything paid programs do
>>7800587I'm not a pro, but i honestly don't think there's much of a difference between any of the big ones (CSP, Photoshop, Krita, Procreate, SAI, etc) if all you do is just drawing. Sure some have some good features for animation and other stuff, but i'm not aware of anything one can do that the other can't if all you do is drawing and painting.
