Are there any anons here who actually have goals of making art their career being full or even part time?Feels like everyone here has given up on that and now actively denounces even the idea of making money. Wasn't this place for aspiring concept artists?

I draw porn and it is too damn turmotulous with all that Visa this Mastercard that, platform A B and C like it this way or that way, that I am just going to, after all these years am just going to draw literally what I want my characters doing, and make my damn games, and if it is good enough for people to chase my shit to give me money? Cool, but if not I want to just post and make shit for the love of the game.I have poured too many years into my skiill to not go buck wild with it but also I am tired of wrapping my head around how to appease the money gods. In the 6 months I've lurked I don't think I've seen a single anon designing anything besides characters and it's kind of a reach to call some t-shirt + shorts gooner shit a design. Concept art seems to have lost its luster because you actually have to be good to have a chance and even if you make it the pay is shit so patreon goon artist is the new dream. Overall there have been like 5 anons that i've seen post anything decent this whole time and then there are the begs blowing them off asking the same redundant shit every time. Best is when you have some barely int being praised to high heavens and they share their whole life journey on how they got to int. People cope that this place is useful for crits but 1. below high int crit is useless 2. actually good crit is extremely rare. It's kind of fascinating how slow and shit this board is given the popularity of art as a hobby. Personally I struggle with internet addiction (meme ik) so that's why I haven't fucked off myself but the ratio of being mildly entertained to being rage baited and disgusted at all the shitty prebeg porn is really not worth it

It has always been my belief that one can register a domain name, put out Something that will generate sufficient steady traffic, and peddle merchandise to the followers. But everyone is chasing dollars, and there is less money for frivolous purchases out there.

>>7801186"artist" isn't a job. what do you want to do with your skills? movies and games always need concept art, even AI can't really quite fill that need. same with key art. animation needs animators, background artists, storyboarders, designers and so on. books need illustrators for covers or even internal art, same with comics. there's signage too. and then there's the "be your own boss" side of things. selling paintings, selling comics, selling artbooks and so on. figure out what you want to do and specialize. get good at your specialty and you'll be able to find work. but getting good at it is not optional. paid work means professional work.>>7801215and how's that working out for ya buddy
