When does the difference between different techniques and actual skill gap starts being clear when it comes to comparing artists with similar art styles? Hiroaki Samura has a similar sketchy style to Isayama at a surface level, but it's obvious that the former is significantly more skilled beyond subjective opinions and tastes

Cleaner art styles aren't exempt f rom this either, for example Kurumada tries to keep things as clean, proportionate, readable and on model as possible but the dude literally can't grasp the concept of actual realistic anatomy and 3d space, resulting in a super stiff "how to draw manga" level mess. For all it's fault with both anatomy and proportions, Isayama at least has a good sense of both composition, gesture and perspective

Wtf is this gobbledygook word salad OP? What the fuck are you even trying to ask here? "When does a skill gap become clear between different artists"? It's the point at which you look at the two side-by-side and can recognize a difference in skill. And while we're here, you can tell when it's night time when the sun goes down. Did this really need a fucking thread?
