how fucked am I if I take a several month hiatus from patreon? I don't like NEED. the money but I'm worried that if I significantly decrease my posting frequency I won't be able to recover when I do come back. anyone have experience with this and burnout?
If people are paying you, expecting a certain amount of work monthly, then it's less about you being 'fucked', and more about you being a bit of a dickhead and not meeting your obligations. You got the money, so deliver what is expected of you. However, I believe you can pause your patreon - so go for that. The bigger risk to you from having a break is actually the social media 'algorithm' fucking you, because you took a pause. Maybe do a bunch of 'best of' reuploads?
>>7803044pausing patreon billing is one of the dumbest things artists do, the whole point of patreon is to get paypigs on autobilling without a clue what's sapping their credit cards and you go and remind the paypig with a call to action to cancel their silent subscription that you worked so hard to get him to pay in the first place
