realistically is it time to put the pen down?
>>7814831That is very realistic progress. Keep it up anon
keep up bro
>>7814831Honestly, yeah.
Keep drawing but perhaps expand your horizons and try drawing/studying other subjects (though I do like Hololive girls as much as the next anon). Also try out angles that aren't always so straight/facing the camera. If you can study profile and back views too you'll improve your understanding of drawing in ALL angles.
>>7814831No, it's time to keep drawing and improving. Also, I did the same as you, only drawing the characters on plain white backgrounds, still do often because it works, but try to experiment with things like backgrounds, keep it simple and more abstract at first, then you'll get used to it and improve over time, I recommend it, I love drawing background nowadays too.
>>7814831more references and patience. you arent spending enough time getting it "right"
>is it time to put the pen down?yeah, on some paper
>>7814831It's time to put it into a different use, studiesGood work finishing pictures but it is time for some gestures and direct face structure studies and I garuntee you will improve 100%
>only 2 yearsbro that's nothing, especially considering you appear to have drawn nothing but anime girl in a white void.try putting more effort in and branching out. you don't have to stop drawing anime girls floating in a void, but at least attempt something more as you go.
>>7814831post your finished observation drawings
>>7814831>has no grasp of anatomy, composition and colors>"should I learn the basics? No! I should go straight for the anime sluts!"/ic/ core post.
>>78148311 year? And you already want to give up? You can ask that question if your drawings are still lookin' like this in 10 yrs..
>>7814831>uses 3D models>still looks like shitYeah, I think it is.
>>7814831No it's progress. You're stuck in a comfort zone right now. Try drawing backgrounds and scenes.
>>7815152This person clearly doesn't do studies. Those drawings are probably 90% of everything OP has ever drawn.
>>7814831It's time to leave your comfort zone and at the bare minimum do some observational drawings and some anatomy studies
>>7814831Try drawing backgrounds and being more ambitious than just 'girl in a void'.
what in the everloving fuck
>>7814831You should study art fundamentals and do master studies instead. Your art is the "just draw" meme.
>>7814831watch all of this guys videoshttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=de5vdPNfFKQ
>>7814831Man I love Fauna
>>7814831Return to trad and draw from life >>7815680+ this
>>7814831Draw traditionally and stop drawing exclusively anime girls.
you drew two things a month? come on man
>>7816619It was atleast one thing per week but putting every single drawing in the image would make it too big
>>7814831Don't think that making 48 pictures in 2 YEARS with almost no backgrounds is enough to improve
>>7816645>1 per weekhahahahahahaha
>>7814831This is what being addicted to vtubers does to your brain
>>7814831Quit color to save time, grind linework only, avoid books and videos like the plague.
>>7814831so much soul, blog?
What did you expect? if you dont like how it turned out try another subject, if ain't havin any fun out of it just quit already and go find something that you may like
>>7814831I think your work is very charming and objectively, finishing a piece + being consistent is an amazing skill to have anon, since people usually just grind boxes or lines in this site and never commit to a piece. But you do kind of need to grind fundies at some point, but still, if you still can find enjoyment in the process of art making, do not give up, you are a good artist :)
>>7814831>dont change anything>never improveart isn't like runescape, you can't grind it out and eventually improve, you have to consciously try different things everyday, like different footholds on a mountain
>>7814831This is like the equivalent of watching a guy struggle to do a basic pop shove it on a skateboard and he just keeps repeating the same mistakes, busting his ass, and not even trying to figure out what he’s doing wrong as he tries a hundred more times
>>7814919Only good answer.
>>7814832It's subpar progress, if any progress at all.>>7815147>>only 2 yearsHe's been drawing for two years to look like he hasn't even been seriously practicing drawing. Two years is a lot of time, and with dedicated consistent practice you can get pretty fucking good in two years.
>>7814831It's possible to push pigment for years and never amount to anything and then one day you find something that clicks and all those years suddenly pay off. I've seen people be ass for decades and then suddenly over a year get insanely good and get work. I don't really doubt anyone anymore, I've been surprised too many times.
>>7814831No it just looks like you found a safe ledge to camp out on where you can get "good enough" results everytime. Well, it's time to suck for a bit again. Start challenging yourself, expand your studies into topics you don't know and are uncomfortable with. It'll hurt a little that you'll be trying things that WILL turn out worse than your current drawings, but you're working new art muscles and will be better off for it.
