I don't know how many people apply for tables but for something as large as DragonCon it's got to be in the high thousands, I doubt they check every portfolio for slop or even quality. No one would take the time to render out all those little details on that jacket when none of those details even make sense. A rough painting looks messy and undifferentiated, more like the patch job on the shoulders. You wouldn't see all those tiny wrinkles and such. If it were actually rendered out, fixing the underlying structure is trivial compared to how long rendering takes.If it were a photobash, it would look much more inconsistent in the details. The lighting wouldn't match, the images parts would be noticably different resolutions, etc. But that just isn't the case here. Everything looks perfectly rendered but in mangled shapes.It's a figure cut out of what looks like a Midjourney generation with some minor edits slapped on.
