Is it true that furry art is where the money is?
Not even with porn exclusively, these people seem to love paying for commissions, especially the ones with fursonas
>>
Also it makes a ton of sense that so much cash flows. You constantly see furries in STEM. I lost count or the amount of times I've seen engineering or medical or tech furries

no, that's furry propaganda
some popular furry artists with active communities can charge $500 a pop. if you're just starting out you'd be drawing furry scat porn for less than minimum wage.
>>

This is like 1/everything else take, so treat it as you will
The reason I personally prefer furry porn is because there is a disconnect between a human likeness, but the shapes of the body are still recognizable. Not some unhinged motive to fuck a dog or something, just a simple detachment where you don't have to think about a human being even remotely being behind it. I can 100% envision myself commissioning some furry smut, but I can draw it myself, so I don't. The fact still stands, drawn art is weird with human faces on, the simple swap is probably what makes it okay for vast majority of audience. Simple as.

You are a bit late to the party. It was true until around 2022-2023
>.t drew furshits to pay for bills around that time

I might just hijack this thread and ask if it makes more sense to have anthro characters in your webcomic, as opposed to humans.

Zootopia 2 got really popular, and I feel like its cause we naturally sorta like animals, and animal people. Furries make it weird, so if were to be normal like Blacksad or Zootopia, you'd get a boost from furries at the start, and then get a fanbase of normal people.

I've got a webcomic I've been writing on for a while, (something similar to taxi driver cross with In Bruges), and I figured having it be in an animal world, could make it more interesting, than just humans.

anthro characters are only furrybait if you make them furrybait
>>
>>7816253
seconding this
i've been irl friends with a popular furry artist since before we both started drawing years ago
these days, they never needs to open his commissions anymore because he/she has a pretty loyal and consistent batch of regulars that he/she maintains a backlog for and messages privately, but getting to that point took years of some of the most treacherous requests and day jobbing through periods of absolute poverty

If you're gonna do it, do it because you want the variety, not because it'll appeal. pick weird animals, have humans there alongside them, maybe throw in some other more out-there things if you feel like it.
In webcomics, the first rule of gun safety is to have fun!

No it's the more degenerate fetishes like futa, scat, loli, inflation etc
I'd say the art jews are futafags, and not furries specifically, though there's a big market for those too and a good "degeneracy multiplier"

yeah I really like the creativy of anthro worlds, and my 3 main characters are human anyway. I did a scene from my comic at the start of the year, but the art wasnt good, so Im workng on another comic now, and gonna get back to the anthro world/ story later on.

Anthros are fun to draw, although it sucks people associated it with furries, not that I really care anyway though. I mean Im gonna make some of the anthros hot, but not in a furry way if that makes sense.

Loli is vanilla compared to the other stuff you mentioned but yeah, there is good demand for it
>>
>>7818356
Honestly there's nothing wrong with appealing to furries a bit if it means more people show up. a crumb of sexy never hurt anybody.

nigga what?

it means they don't know what the person's gender is specifically. it ain't rocket science dumbass.

you know what, after reading some stuff online and checking out other webcomics. Some of these furry comics that are long running, and update with a page every 1-2 weeks, are getting thousands a month.

https://bethellium.kemono.cafe/comic/c03pg71/

This guy seems to update a couple of times a month, and yet is making big bucks on Patreon. No hate on them, but yeah furries will probably shill out money more than normies. Sorta makes me wish I just started with my anthro story, but I can do that in a few years.

It was like a perfect storm, because people thought "that's where the money is" it also attracted a bunch of frauds that use AI. Join any big (1000's of ppl) furry discord community (just join, dont even do anything) and eventually and inevitably some jeet bot will slide into your DM's trying to peddle AI shit. FA is full of shitters that "magically" got better during that time as well and FA isn't doing anything about it despite rules against AI.
>>
>>7816239
Like other anons have said AI has changed things. These days furries seem to care more about whether or not who is getting their money is actually a furry. Unless you are doing something that is better insulated against AI (3d modeling, animation, custom plush, fursuiting), potential customers will be less willing to overlook your lack of interest/investment/papertrail in the community. Any new art account is going to be scrutinized.
>>7819466
He seems to be locking official lewds behind Patreon, which seems to be the path to take.
>>

They did this to themselves. Endless boasting about how well they pay artists and now there are people who are in it just for the money... me included =]
