The market is just overcrowded now. This was impressive years ago, but now you have tons of random artists doing the same stlye.And the artists who have the most followers and make hte most money are gooner artist who have the most basic comic/anime style out there.

Piotr Jablonski has this series of pictures called "annoying galacticers" which feature very important looking giant monsters and gods things that are interrupted by goofy looking spacemen running through their scenes.There's storytelling there, deliberate use of anachronistic and chaotic imagery. Ruan Jia's art is really strange and chaotic but I don't see any story. It's like a bucket of goop from the cosmic world egg splashed onto his drawing tablet. Nothing clashes, nothing meshes.I guess it's a given that someone this enchanted by visual minutia isn't going to be interested in visual storytelling. Anyway I like the way he draws hair.

he is an incredibly diligent artist and I respect that deeply. However, I never found his works notably appealing.His characters seem expressionless and look lifeless like corpses. Backgrounds are mostly an afterthought. Great technical skill though.
