You have 25 seconds to convince me this is anything more than a picture of a girl, deserving no more attention or study than any other portrait of any other girl. (or woman.)
>>
Why would I try to convince you of a falsehood? Mona Lisa is one of the most overrated paintings of all time.
>>
>I've made up my mind.
>You have 20 seconds to tell me why I'm wrong (I wont listen)

why would i waste my time on someone who just wants to argue
>>

only shitlibs care about the mona lisa

it's propped up high art because they want to convince you that her masculine face and receding hairline are peak female beauty and not just some kind of troon cope
>>
>>7827005
only normie niggas care about it, so overrated. only famous cause da vinci painted it and it got stolen from the louvre.
but it's a decent portrait considering it was painted in the early 1500s.
>>
Bro she isn't even naked! What a piece of crap!
>>
Reminder that your opinion is completely worthless if you haven't seen the paining in person
>>
>>7827005
It's a meme. It's different from other portraits BECAUSE of the amount of attention it got. Not vice versa.
>>
Just by virtue of who made it the painting is of more interest than the average portrait. I think you set the bar too low on this one.
>>
>>7827116
This. When I saw it at the Louvre I had a holy experience
>>
>>7827005
its one of the most successful marketing campaigns. Louvre needs visitors. it being stolen once made it a bigger deal than it was before. also leonardo is cool
>>
>>7827138
Thats just silly. There loads of masterpieces in the Louvre.
>>
>>7827225
Yeah including Mona Lisa. Anons here are mad because a good painting is receiving attention...
>>
>>7827225
ask 10 random people to name 2 other masterpieces in the Louvre
>>
>>7827137
>>7827116
It's really not any different.
>>
>>7827005
This is literally one of the first paintings done applying hundreds of transparent layers, a whole new technique; imagine it had same effect as seeing moving pictures for the first time, learn your art history retards
>>
>>7827005
have seen plenty of portraits from /ic which are more soulful and impactful
>>
>>7827018
>prejudice
That's literally why this picture is held in such high regards. It was painted by a famous person(Leonardo da Vinci), therefore holds higher value in the minds of the masses.
Had it been painted by a unknown and manage to survive to modern age, it would just be another renaissance painting.
>>
Idk I thought it was called the Moana Lisa for a while which I found rather funny
>>
>>7827005
Thats actually a self portrait of davinci the way he saw his true inward self. Thats why, davinci was trans. This is why this work is so important today.
>>
ML mogs it's contemporaries. If you can't tell, your eyes are fucked, your taste is trash, or you are just being contrarian (likely the case, when the art world and 4chang combine their enourmous retard levels)

I guess most will know the raft by Gericault and the Venus de Milo or the Nike of Samothrace but might not know theyre in the Louvre.
