How do I stop being such a dopamine junkie so I can actually sit down and practice?
>>

You have FOMO
>>
it starts with making material restrictions in your environment, such as putting certain temptations away (if only temporarily), blocking sites, etc. then having physical aids to serve as reminders (sticky notes, alarm clocks, etc.). also mindfulness (which can be facilitated by meditation, but also just thinking long-term).

Force it. That's it.

You're a zoomer, you can't. Your brain is permafucked, and that makes me happy. Zoomer filth

Go out without your phone and carry a paper and a pen and don't come back until nightfall

Try a promodoro timer, there's plenty of free online ones; just adjust the timing to what you think you can manage, and slowly work you're times to longer work sessions.
Alternatively, do what I do, have a playlist of music (free time) and a podcast (work time).
Once the podcast starts, start working. Once the podcast ends, break time.

>Have to chug an entire book to learn how to be able to chug an entire book
Buddy...

>to learn how to be able to chug an entire book
you already know how to do that

Draw on a computer that isn't connected to the internet.

Actually, there are a lot of reports of students being unable to even read a paragraph of information because they're so lacking in attention span... so I wouldn't be too sure of that, unfortunately.
>>
>>7828773
failing to do something doesn't mean you lack the ability or know-how
>>
you already know what you're doing wrong.
Break those bad habits first.

Unironicaly destroy the thing that takes your attention, there is no other way out of brainrott.

Pretend youre chatting with a super hot art chick and shes sending you snapchats of her cute sketches shes working on and she says What about you? What're you up to tonight? You want to be able to send her a sick progress pic. She'll be disappointed and let down if you have nothing to show

Draw a bunch of stuff at the same time, if you are getting bored go back to another drawing and so and so and so
>>

This might be it. Also maybe blast music at the same time (I know this worsens learning, but just to make it so the ADHD brain is satisfied)
>>
>>7829007
and try to never EVER open the web browser, opening the browser = at least 1 hour gone. Actual ADHD is cancer

Why are zoomers/alphies like this? Thank God for AI saving humankind from extinction

It looks like the answer is in your question, dopamine is preventing you from doing something so remove it. Look up dopamine detox, worked for me

you can't. Drawing is unnatural and defies human behavior. The brain is not designed to hallucinate lines and focus on pointless details that don't help you survuve. Your brain wants pleasure and drawing is like sticking your hand on an open flame.
You have to be actually insane to like drawing, if you're not, then you need to force yourself to do it.
>>
If you read this, you have to draw for ONE WHOLE HOUR

Yes master. As you will.

A simple thing that has helped me a lot was to stop multitasking all the time. No phone on the toilet or on walks, no checking socials while I draw, when I watch a series, I force myself to give it my full attention,...
At the start you will feel like a child whose toy got confiscated but after 2 days your brain will feel more capable of simply enjoying things.
