You draw it, screenshot it and post it on your Patreon, then you erase it and just wing it

You don't draw from the box. You draw from life.
Your life is already three-dimensional. Look around you and draw concisely.

At this point in the book they've already had about 30 pages covering how to draw forms in perspective and how to draw the human body with simplified forms so it's more like showing up to Calc and never having done Algebra.

The real question is how you keep good gesture while using this method, drawing boxes is easy if you grind it out enough
Being expressive WHILE retaining structure is a different creature all together

Perspective is just the rule that a drawing will abide by, often dictating gesture, which dictates form. It is a completely different beast because it requires you to have mastery of these concepts at an advanced level. This box is literally a framework to help you understand how to segment and think of the body in forms so you can learn how perspective is applied to the forms, it's like level 2 and what you're talking about is like a lvl 8. Who was that guy... uh... Moebius? He understood that perspective is the foundation for art and he'd use it to "hypnotize" the viewer. Like in this drawing I'm posting, notice the vanishing point, and notice how the gesture and forms are all dictated by it. It sucks your eyes in, visual weight and energy.

lol. I mean, my own skill isn't at this level yet but I do understand that this is how it works. I'm getting there little by little. I wish I'd done more art this year, all I really have to show for my skill is something I worked on and didn't even finish from earlier this year, but I was really proud that it was all without reference and just my understanding / visual memory bank.
>>
>>7837403
the ability to think in 3d space should subliminally inform your decision making while you focus on gesture.
>>
Its funny how faggots like >>7837557
think that perspective aka one of the most basic and fundamental pieces of art is not really necessary when really it what separates a good artist from a great artist. What separates a great artist from a god tier artist is composition and story telling.
>>7837501
You're already half way there, now you just gotta practice doing all your drawings in perspective and with composition in mind and you'll see how well your art will drastically improve.

oh i didnt attach my art.
>>7837623
yeah, that's something I'm having to learn how to do. I started learning art in a painterly way where I block in values and shapes first, so I never had to really practice thinking about perspective. I regret learning this way as color and light have always been what I had an affinity for but it's made my grasp on manipulating forms and interesting perspective based compositions weak. I feel like if I had worked my way up to color and light following a more traditional fundie learning route, I'd have a lot more flexible of a workflow, but, it's all additive, so just gotta get some mileage in.

>my own skill isn't at this level yet
>I do understand that this is how it works

If you do not have the skill you do not understand how it works. Anyone can understand basic things, I can explain basic 1/2 pt perspective to an 8 year old and they can wrap their head around it, doesn't mean they actually understand how to put it in practice.

>think that perspective aka one of the most basic and fundamental pieces of art is not really necessary

Where did I say this? Learn how 2 read and stop projecting you fucking jeet

>You're already half way there
No they're not "half way there" explaining a concept and putting it into practice are two different things. I could explain to you the process of flying to you, doesn't mean that I'm anywhere near qualified to actually do it. Also look at the vagueness in explaining his autofelatio example he's no where near it. That's like thinking a movie critic can actually make a good movie because they can talk about what's good and bad with a movie.

Im not gonna read all of this until you pyw.

Look up art you want to emulate, see if you can find tutorials, studies, books, etc where they teach or you can observe how they go about doing that. Finding a resource that has what you're looking to learn in a world of abundant information is the easy part. The hardest part, is actually putting in the work of advancing your own skills to the point where it's intuitive. You said it yourself, what I said is true, anybody can say what something is, but it's the actually putting it into practice part that is the hard part, and nobody can do that for you. Unless you pay a teacher to hold your hand and guide you step by step throughout the ENTIRE process of learning fundies and structured practices leading up to the point where you're ready to actually start creating at that level, you're going to have to just put in the work and teach yourself and figure things by watching others or seeking out information.

i can't even draw a regular cube in any sort of perspective
