Just curious, do you want to use calligraphy in your art, or do you think it will improve your drawing? Do you think you can learn karate by waxing cars and sanding floors?
That said, don't let me talk you out of learning Japanese for its own sake. It will, in the long run, prove to be a more useful skill than drawing.
