Even Miyamoto Musashi talks of doing something unrelated to your craft at least one day a week and he's the pinnacle of asceticism.

You do have to train yourself to work twice as hard tired which is easy because you're not going as fast so you're making less mistakes and tackling it strategically to preserve energy rather than tactically.
