there are a ton of very interesting artists out there who have styles that would be more respected if they put their stuff in galleries.
translation: I think there's an authoritative body qualified to decide what is and isn't art, and it's only through them and being in a gallery that something becomes art
>>7840102part of my point is that you wont be remembered if you are just a digital artist. traditional places you within the physical world and if you get into a gallery it guarantees that people who really appreciate art will see and remember your work (granted it is good or striking enough). digital art is at the mercy of algorithms and brainrotted doomscrollers. your art becomes content on the internet. bring it into the real world if you want people to respect your artistry
>>7840105I see your point about the physicality of it and the algorithmI'm not really in tune with that kind of art space, but maybe the difference between digital and trad is that with trad, there's an inherent quality where you know it went through certain processes which gives it an appeal lacking in digital, ie you can admire the quality of the brushwork and know that there's no real trickery like with color grading, ajustment layers, filters in post etc. what's a digital artist gonna do, just print off their work onto a piece of printer paper and hang it in a gallery? hope that makes sense idk man. maybe I'm optimistic but I feel like the good stuff will always rise to the top, or at least have a sizable audience relative to its quality one other thing to maybe consider is the availability of art. there's a good chance I'd have never heard of 99% of the artists I enjoy if not for the internet, much less be able to view all of their work. even for older artists like Heinrich Kley, it'd be one hell of an effort to find all of his work IRL for what it's worth, I actually saved a load of art from that guy about 2 weeks ago. in a way he's in my own little curated digital museum
>>7840093you give digital artists too much credit, if you think they would be anywhere close to as good without their hands being held by a computer program
>>7840353you don't draw sharty retard
>>7840093galleries are just spaces for trust fund kids to party and balding jewish creeps to try to get laid and launder money
I’m 31 years old and have never seen the inside (or outside) of an art gallery. They might as well be unicorns
yet another retard that thinks they have all the answers
