I haven't seen a genuine progress/improvement thread in a long time. I'd like to see how others are doing. The last several years have been really draining. I ended up loathing my art, and I gave up on trying to make it. A small part of me hopes that'll change one day.I wish you all a good new year.

I didnt take actual year long breaks in my pic mind you but I started doing this shit in HS and I aint gonna list every year. By the time 2024 hit and I had the college assignment to do a comic-styled page I realized that I didnt need to grind another 5 college courses in life drawing to start drawing my own shit and started doing Twirlanders soon after and thats basically all I'm gonna do for the foreseeable future drawing wise.>>7844214If it helps legit try taking a hiatus. I've taken breaks from drawing for like a month or two(granted most of those breaks are just me being that fucking tired from work that I cant even bother with drawing). Also helps to have an actual project that you are doing. Ive drawn more "sophisticated" stuff in college but this shit with my webcomic I feel is the best stuff that I've made in years even though its just fucking cartoons cause theyre my ideas and not just stuff for a grade or to impress others. I hope you get back into it cause your stuff is good

This year marks almost 10 years of drawingI don't know if it's bad progress or normal progress. I could have definitely tried harder, but I don't think it looks that bad is like Average progress?
>>7848937I would ay yes generally, however I will say starting 2024/2025 your color pallete has gotten more muted, like technically that 2021 pice you have is the most darkest but the colors that are there still have contrast and hue, but the newest paintings you have there feel like you picked the same tints and tones. Like that 2024 one especially despite all the different colors in the piece it all blends in as the same type of grey, the same issue canbe seen in the 2025 piece but at least there you have a little more brighter orange hitting the fox character. I fel like you should harken back to something like that 2023 piece. Despite that piece being mostly neutral colors and browns and such theres so much variation in tints and tones and shade that it stands out the most out of all the pics you have there. You are progressing in other places though like the compositions have been getting better consistantly(although in that 2025 piece theres no reason to have stairs where the fox is sitting it could have just been a natural rock formation or even rocks that take the form of steps, slapped on stairs makes the piece look amateurish in an otherwise good piece)

>>7849074If I noticed it, or what happens is that around 2019-2023I used to rely heavily on effects and filters for color but I felt like I wasn't learning sooo I tried to use as few filters and capes as possible when coloring, which makes it look a little worse, but I try to practice coloring every so often to correct it a little. I still have a lot to learn about saturation and contrast. I hope that changes in the future. Thanks for taking the time to write anon!
Put this together real quick. Some '23/'24 drawings and the right most one is one of the better ones from the last few months. I think inconsistency and low volume are my biggest problems.
