Reminder to all newfagsDrawing with music will hinder your learning progress
Fuck youI will continue to listen to underground nu metal while drawing
I listen to good girl asmr and hypno fractionation exclusively while drawing.
>>7845063Lies. I draw while listening to music and... Oh... I suck at drawing...
>>7845073this is why you're still a beg
>>7845074liar
maybe listen to better music, something that isnt as distracting. no nu-negroid monkey sounds for example. now black jazz and blues is another story. or some classical music. if anything, i am quite sure it will improve your art and the mood it gives. its not a mechanical process, its emotional. i mean, unless youre drawing shitty porn and animu grills for attention, then do whatever you think is right, because the brain damage is already done.
>>7845063Unironically, what other advice can you give?
>>7845083I draw naked children
>>7845063Okay. I will continue to do so
>>7845073Any band and album recommendations?
Music can be inspirational, but I like instrumental music when I am writing dialog and when I am just drawing, anything works, even audiobooks.
>>7845063>tfw the only reason I draw is because of music
I live in a third world hell hole. I have to listen to something while i draw. My low IQ neighbors hate silence.
>>7845077Sneed>>784510536 CrazyfistsMushroomheadSpineshankSevendustChimairaAvatarFlawScars of LifeThere's a bunch more but I'm sure your app's autoplay will hit them eventually.
Right, this is why you should seal yourself away in a isolation tank when drawing. No Noises. No Light. No Stimuli. No Distractions. You should also, preferably, be drugged up and numbed to physical sensations, we wouldn't want the physical sensation of the pencil scraping against the paper to distract you from the act of drawing, now would we?Trust me, though I'm still pre-beg, I'm certain I've been making big strides for the last 10 years or so I've been drawing this way - I'm on my way to beg at this rate!
>>7845063Can you explain why ? Care to post your work?Or just post a lame meme?
Listening to music and watching youtube while I draw is the only reason I've improved so much the past year.Maybe I'd improve twice as fast without it, but I would also draw ten times less, so no shot I stop.
>>7845576>AI t-shirt>It insults AI>Still made with AIDudes, this is so ironic, I assume they ironically didn't hire a human artist? Man that's so hilariously ironic. What next? Anti-leather themed leather jackets?Anti-child slavery Nike shoes? What a hilarious and ironic time to be alive!
>>7845588A Jewish-backed company that objectively benefits mankind? The possibilities are endless!
>>7845576I read this in the papers one day, so I don't have a web source.Basically multitasking is a myth. The brain only focuses on one thing at a time. Thus, when you do several things at once, the brain has to constantly switch between tasks. This is also why you don't actually 'hear' the music whenever you're really focused while drawing.Another thing to consider is called dopamine stacking. If you indulge in several dopamine sources at once, such as listening to music, watching videos on a second monitor and drinking your favourite soda all at once, this has long-term negative effects on your dopamine system. Your baseline dopamine will gradually adapt, meaning you'll have a harder time motivating yourself to do tasks like drawing.Check the Andrew Huberman Podcast episode for more info on that.Personally, I don't mind if other people listen to music while drawing. Maybe it can be motivating. If it works for you, great. In my own work, I noticed an improvement in quality when I stopped listening to music while drawing.
>he doesn't put music on and not realise it's on until he finishes drawingngmi
>>7845645kek i do this except the music IS on but i don't even have my headphones in
>>7845063>music distracts me>but dopamine goes down the shitter without itI'm in hell
It's either music or the "eeeeeeeeeeee" from tinnitus :D
>>7845063What if my brain starts to play a music in my head? Because I have mostly no control over it.
>>7845063I know, and it's hands down my worst habit with my art. Is white noise a good alternative? My apartment is never truly quiet and I don't like overhearing most of what goes on.
>>7845081it's true! but I am not a good girl and don't deserve it...
>>7845063I was never even tempted because music just distracts me no matter what I’m doing. Never understood the appeal.

>>7845965>>7845989this sort of dodging is all I need to know. Time to listen to gains music while drawing.

>>7848272>>7848245oh my badHOLY FUCKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK
>>7848245I bow. Master! Teach me more!I promise to only listen to music half the time!
>>7845063>go to every Jap livestreaming art>they listen to the worst Jazz music ever conceived by man>still draw circles around /ic/Yeah, I think I'll stick to the sensei's that actually draw.
these piece of advice are literally nonsense. If it helps to get you into the zone by putting some light music in the background, then do so. If it distracts you then dont. What keeps you a beg is whether or not you draw and challenge yourself by studying, applying new knowledge and repeating that for years.
>>7845063<citation needed>
>>7848335yeah, i listen to music 24/7 and i haven't had any problem in progressing with my art
>>7848339>month....what do you define as int?
>>7848352can you give an example? visual? cause that definition is incredibly vague.
>>7848354i'd say a month is a bit much too quick. Maybe 6-12 months, then i'd agree.
>>7848361im talking from the perspective of someone who is pretty much completely new to art. Doesn't know anything of the fundamentals, doesn't really have any experience at all, and assuming that they actually practice daily and study. Not being on /ic/ is already part of my equations, because this place is a cesspit.
>>7845063I only listen to music when I have to finish a drawing within a certain time limit
>>7845077pyw
>>7848245I want to draw like this but traditional (alcohol markers) but then I would have to hide it for it will never see the light of day.... how do I go about this?
>>7848323lmao, even the basedjack in this is AI
>>7845076>Oh... I suckme too :3
>>7845063Background noise helps me lock in. What's the alternative, adderall? No thanks.Everyone does it anyway, who cares. I suppose it's worth trying (temporarily) if you're stuck.
>>7845063I only listen to conspiracy theory videos while drawing, will it fuck my with brain? Most likely
I keep passing this thread on the way to other threads. Is this proclamation grounded in anything besides personal experience?
>>7849830>Is this proclamation grounded in anything besides personal experience? No. Just like 90% of /ic/ claims.
>>7849872Well I meant like "Oh these people did this study and found that 99 percent of your brain turns to butts if you listen to music while drawing."I'm not unwilling to try new things but if there's known pitfalls I would like to be mindful.
i make my own dj sets and then listen to them while drawing. i have over a hundred
>>7850371>my own dj setswhat's that mean, like a playlis?

>>7845622>Another thing to consider is called dopamine stacking.also a myth. just another modernist buzzword. and listening to music in the background isnt multitasking, as you said, you are not actively listening to it. silence is a luxury if you dont live on the land, there will always be noise and distractions, therefore choosing the distraction or background noise that is pleasent instead of annoying, like music, is key in productivity. you are wrong.
>>7845622>This is also why you don't actually 'hear' the music whenever you're really focused while drawing.I notice this happen, but I also always use the same playlist that only has like 30 songs, which I've listened to a ton and only ever use while drawing, so I'll usually only really get to hear the first song, maybe a bit of the second, and the routine/monotony of it being associated with drawing gets me into focus way fast. If I ever catch myself actually hearing it again, I know it's time for a break because my focus is dropping. Works for me.
>>7845083why would more complex music be better? wouldn't that be more distracting?
I goon myself to death when I draw with no music
>>7845063Newsflash: People are differentWhat works for you is not guaranteed to work for everybody.
