Try this. Maybe it'll teach you to first think in shapes, which is what you need to draw from memory - memorized shapes, not construction or detailed anatomy.

Don't forget.

I'm not a good artist so take what I say with a grain of salt but I really think for most people it's just practice. You look at a lot of different examples of the kind of thing you want to remember how to draw and practice drawing it with and without reference. I think probably (and again I'm not a good artist so what do I know) you want to remember what kind of basic shapes and proportions things have as well as their relationship to each other. So if you want to learn to draw lots of cars from memory practice that a lot and learn the fundamental shapes and proportions of cars etc etc

Breakdown a subject into basic shapes then try drawing from imagination and repeat
Its that simple

Here's how you do it:

>Trace and copy a photo or drawing at least thirty times.
>Draw from multiple angles: do contour drawings, upside down drawings (for photos), and draw with marker and a sheet of glass for live subjects
>Look at your subject for extended periods of time, then remove the subject and draw from memory. Then look and draw simultaneously, then do another drawing from memory. Repeat as needed.
>Don't rush. Take your time.

You have to actually be constantly looking at multiple pieces of artwork a day and practicing from memory. Playing videogames half the day and reading slop does not help. Imagine yourself drawing the picture if you don't have time, that especially helps me when I'm going on an errand or some sort of other outing where I didn't or can't bring my sketchbook.
>What stylization choices were made?
>Why is this element here?
>What makes this composition special?
>How do I use shapes to construct a figure?
>Draw. You need mileage. Even if it looks bad at first, draw.
>Try drawing your subject from memory
>After you're done look at your ref and correct your picture
>Analyze what mistakes you made
>Observe
>Draw
>Repeat

Be obsessed with the subject matter. As a kid, Kim jung gi wanted a bike for his birthday. Drew bikes over and over and over
