I don't know how /dad/s dealt with him, since he's gone from that general. Maybe they know him closely from their /dad/ site, so he cautiously left them alone.
>>7855999Studying by copying is good. Something I’ll suggest is really focusing on figuring out the construction behind figures when you copy, which you have done somewhat here with the cylinders and stuff. Lowering the opacity on your construction forms and redrawing them a few times as a copying exercise is very helpful in figuring out the body as a form. Also /asg/ would be a thread with good advice on this topic as well.

New thread, I see. Reading through the replies, I see why. Just got back from a trip to the city, and had an hour to myself. I was going to study more Bridgman, but I decided to actually draw something in the last 45 minutes. I wanted something cartoonish, I didn't really care about correct proportions or anything. I thought it would make things a little quicker, but no. I also had to drop the dino, sadly, and I half-assed the wheels when the timer went out. I'm also not satisfied with the lady, and there are details I didn't fixed. >>7856271Just start drawing humans if your goal is to draw humans. You'll never learn to draw people by only drawing shapes as our resident funschizo has proven to all by now. >>7856275>Just start drawing humans if your goal is to draw humansman you're right, I gotta start at least. What's the play for getting started with humans though? People either say to copy things you like the look of, or use construction from the start (which kinda brings me back to shapes).
>>7855757>Talent is a trainable skillIs this the kind of mouth breathing retard that plagues this hellhole? They have a natural eye for measurenent, appeal and proportions. They just are better because they know better and are gifted to get better than most can ever hope for in fractions of the time.Anyone who says otherwise is some permabeg fag who doesnt want to admit that they are FUCKED and that the ones who excel are truly special and that copying another couple pages of Bridgman will surely make his work appealing and good. That or it is by some super talented fuck who wants to think that he is nothing but hard work and an underdog who worked harder than everyone else to be where they are completely ignoring their birthright.Gutting advanced classrooms for the gifted kids in order to bring them down the level of your special ed negro ass has been a disaster.
Anatomy Study.>>7856271Holy shit, I love your lines. How do you allow for the post to be so dynamic? I've found that to be the hardest thing to emulate in my poses.
>>7856279I'm in no way qualified to give any advice since I'm a beg myself but if you like Bridgman you can try copying him. Copying Morpho's helped improve my accuracy in drawing immensely and I believe that being able to accurately copy something is the most important thing to achieve at the start. All the construction in the world is worthless if I still draw fucked up disproportionate monsters while using it because I can't observe the reference for shit. >>7856290Wow, I can't read. Thanks anon
>>7856292Just be prepared to spend a very long time on copying something accurately or it ending up looking wonky. Even drawings which look like basic stuff at first glance end up taking over an hour for me on average to copy accurately. But just ride with it since if you're committed you can reach passable levels fairly quickly. And don't worry about it being too advanced or you will risk getting stuck in an endless loop of grinding useless things instead of practicing what you actually want to draw

Perspective is such a soul sucking, grueling task that even with me reading 5 different books on it, I'm about as close to it clicking like a clock without gears. I swear cunts like Norling and Robertson are taking opposite stances just to spite me. I'm losing my fucking mind. I can look at a reference, I can draw that reference. The moment the reference goes away and I try to draw anything more complex than a box or primitive from a new perspective, everything goes to complete shit. Despite drawing dozens of skulls, every single time it feels like I'm completely fucking guessing where the lines go. >>7856604Here’s my latest. Don’t overthink it, honestly. Try, fail, look up art you like, try again, fail, look up process videos of art you like, try again, etc…. Any problem you run into like simplifying a scene, defining form in complicated groups of foliage, etc… has art you like that offers a possible solution. Copy that solution and think about why they made the choices they did. It can be really helpful to find artists that post their references for that reason.

Not sure about this one
>>7856553I'm happy to explain it again, anon. I'm going to give you the rough spark notes, since I'm on break right now. I gave some historical context, like the French loving to showcase the human figure, the greeks obsession with aesthetics and beauty. Whatever flow the figures had the function of showing the human body in the best light. Now, gestures as we know them have been around for centuries, literally. Leonardo back in Italy used it, but we only really named it in the late 1800's-ish. Techniques are a bit wishy washy in terms of history, as it's much more focused on artworks and materials, rather than how. That was popularized during the first half of the 1900's.Gestures, as a means of practice, can give your line more flow, and you'll become much more confident in your strokes. That's especially true if you use long strokes and sparingly. Gesture drawings primary function is to establish the movement, so practicing it will also gain you in the long run in terms of dynamism.Believe it or not, that's the short version. I could go on.

Kind of at lost on where I should go next. I've been learning basic shapes and then trying to use them to recreate images with varying levels of success. I have been also been trying to get an understanding on 3D shapes (mainly boxes) and how to rotate and alter them. Not sure if should just go back to practicing with simple shapes again.
>>7856876If I'm being biased, I'm very tired of speaking of Greek and ancient art forms. It's extremely autistic, which to anyone who have studied the ancient Greeks will know, they were completely obsessed with understanding reality through geometry and beauty, both physically, metaphysically and spiritually. It's a one-trick pony after a while. The interesting bits were more how their society is reflected in their artworks, but other than that, it's not that interesting. If you want some historical context, then the French is were it's at, though the specific technique aren't really discussed much. I believe that a reply on /ic/ would not suffice, but I found a good overview online if you're interested: https://rauantiques.com/blogs/canvases-carats-and-curiosities/a-survey-of-french-art-romanticism-to-the-modern-age
>>7856913I like your visualization better, and I love the sky/ground difference, but tilting the mirror wouldn't do much. It's like tilting a round mirror, no matter which way it's tilted like the square one in your image, it's still facing the same way, which is the reflective surface.

Hey anons, I came here a few months back for advice and haven't been able to regularly practice, but have been able to do a daily 30-60 minutes for like 2 weeks now. Following some advice, I'm trying to draw torso/pelvis boxes in different perspectives and poses. I think they're starting to look pretty good, at least compared to some earlier shit, but some are too difficult for me and I need advice. Also, I was told to do this and then see if people can tell what's happening in each without explaining, so go ahead and give your best guesses. The one(s) I struggled with the most are the two at the top of the second page, which I'll post in a reply; I'll wait to see if people can tell me what it is before explaining, but it looks SUPER ass to me and I can't figure out why.

>>7857345>>7857356Sure thing. The way you draw limbs is pillowy and symmetrical, muscles are stacked like the Tire man, but the limbs are supposed to be asymmetrical. If you're going to draw in a cartoon style but want it to be sexually appealing you can provide it by giving your bodies a more realistic body shape, can still be simplified, but having an understanding of the shapes will let you know what rules to bend and still keep things styled.

>Always had problem with wonky lines, didn't really put too much thought into it, thought it would sort itself out>gave up drawing a year ago>started gym around the same time>always a problem with my right arm, felt really unstable on lifts>pick up drawing again recently>try out line drills with both hands just on a whim>find out left hand feels a lot more stable than right>can actually draw a straight line with my left arm>wtf>do drills with right arm for half an hr straight>wake up next day right forearm is sore as shitIf this fixes my problem I'll be so happy/pissed

Some painting studiesI don’t really know what I want yet or where I’m going , but they’re fun.>>7857733good job>>7857334You are thinking to much just draw draw drawlook up how other artists do it time to time but draw a lot more. >>7857572good>>7857587soul>>7857657Good work, that animator from my little witch draws like this i think
>>7857599It's been helpful I think I'm able to draw some stuff I struggled with like ears and noses and for very little you get a lot of content. Keep in mind that the expensive version doesn't offer a lot more . I thought I needed to be a purple member for purple classes but that's just how they mark it as advanced. My process so far has been to do 1 section a day which is a good hour or so of studying and drawing.
>>7857756>You are thinking to much>just draw draw drawBut I have been drawing :( I just wanted some opinions and to see if people can tell what I'm drawing
>>7855901Might not be good but I enjoyed doodling this.
>>7857792>see if people can tell what I'm drawingDoesn't matter right now shoot (draw) first ask questions lateri can tell they all different action poses, these broad dynamic poses aren't that hard to read unlike subtle poses.right now focus on line drills, gesture and construction
>>7857587SOVL!>>7857733You are doing well
>>7857799Alright fine, though I was a little paranoid because I used to draw blobs that others couldn't identify, so it's good to know they're legible now.
>>7857334You are good you will become artchad as you try more. Just have growth mindset. (I lack growth mindset and I am a gigantic failure.)
>>7857805Thanks, though I would like some advice on the "looking down on you" perspective since I can't seem to get it>gigantic failureWAGMI, don't be fake and gay
>>7857432
>>7857811just realized she looks fkin squished lmao
>>7857710I hope you feel better soon :)
some progress maybe
>>7857847One of those frog's toes looks like my boyfriends penis.Nice!
>>7857849i hope it's not size accurate
>>7857852No, unfortunately.
>>7857705amazing as usual, you're great at doing detail, but not getting lost in it so that it's actually readable. The brush you're using looks real good, kind of reminds me of the capcom digitals for second impact>>7857756yoh yoshinari I think, I heard about him recently lol. Glad I'm drawing similarities because he does the exact kind of stuff I like>>7857733keep going strong but if I'm being honest, loomis gets mogged by bridgman in terms of construction>>7857808look at krenz on twitter and study his dynamic poses>>7857847purple guy's art disciple, keep grinding. Maybe do some capcom studies since it's pretty close to purple guy's style and it should help with human figures
>>7857604Don't namedrop me bro, that's not me. I just draw self-indulgent slop for myself so popping off would never happen anyway
>>7857583Do more of those quick direct draw characters and play around with hairstyles, expressions, etc. They do help in the long run even if they're challenging.
>>7857886FavelaGOD draws self indulgent slop of his own OC, the most basic and generic brown tomboy shit ever with a shadow the edgehog red streak of hair and gets 30k likes on average.Get real.
>>7857432Tried twicepainting without under drawing and a drawing
>>7857587You did pretty good
>>7857705This is awesome
>>7857644you're really annoying for someone who draws like that
>>7857356>>7857386none of this matters>As a character pose them sharing the same stance is fineits not>>7857286not they do it because its idealess
total talented rats HATE
>>7857286It's boring style is cool but you need to work a lot more on your fundamentals >>7857248>how id approach drawing from imagination? My man, first draw 1000 heads from reference using structure,
>>7857286Yes. Permabegschizo posts way worse tranime slop and gets replies and redlines because it is tranime.
>>7857916its because he has way better ideas than some retarded looking characters standing still like a mannequin
>>7857916Permabegschizo has his charisma

>>7857918>generic tranime girl in white void is good ideas.>>7857919>Screaming and crying about talent>Charisma.
>>7857950>generic tranime girl in white void is good ideas.better than whatever youre drawing, cry
>>7857955>>7857935Gore feels like stickers and make upinstead of actual skin and bloodalso the structure looks a little underwhelming look up some brutal zombies and recreate those
crit?>Gore feels like stickers and make upinstead of actual skin and bloodHow can i make it looke more like skin and blood
>>7857975still looks like makelook up footage of deadisland 2 that should help youand other artist who draw grusome zombies
>>7857982make up* I tried to do some quick work.
Is drawing on the right side of the brain actually worth doing or is it kind of a meme. Also do I really need to construct that viewfinder square?
>>7857263You have like 40 fucking characters and they all have this same template face/body/pose thing going on. For the love of god please throw the template shit out and try to refine a select few of your OCs. Just keep iterating on them and try drawing them doing something other than standing at a 3/4 angle.
>>7857999Keys to Drawing is better, and it has no pseudoscientific rambling.
>>7857991i was looking on painting/coloring crit, shouldve clarified
>>7857999Right side is the only correct way of drawing. Left side is the meme party trick, Left is the kind of retard that says "feel the vibe and feel the form", it might "look" as if they are IM but once you look closely you realize it's garbage that's basically on /beg/ tier. People that use the right side eventually master the craft. Construction, Perspective, Gatekeep.
Did the rose assignment from learn to draw in 30 days. I think it turned out alright but the stem and leaf kinda messed me up. If anyone has done the book, does it get more "interesting"? I get that its a start to drawing but I dunno, this isn't really all that fun, but if I stop doing it, what do I do
I tried drawing what would my life be like if I was an onahole table.
>>7858025NTA but I'm super beg and am unfamiliar with left/right brain talk, can you elaborate? I'm getting pseudoscience when I look it up.
>>7858041You're responding to a pseud
>>7858038bugchaserbro...
>>7857501>Slow downnnnI can't I want to draw fast
my drawing never really went passed '10 minute copy of an anime girl with no construction/eraser'I need some structure or lesson plan or something
>>7856565Where can I masturbate to more of your work?
Just finished another Homu study. Original incoming!
relax
>just looking at the krita icon on my toolbar is starting to make me sad and angryWhat the fuck is wrong with me?
>>7858041Left is drawing forms by memory, also known by these fucking faggots as imagination. You are just copying shit from the databank. There is no real struggle here, you will never challenge yourself but it teaches you what is appealing and what's not.Right is drawing forms with constructions, fundamentals, perspectives, planes, it's a massive struggle too. Basically if it ain't well constructed, it's a party trick. a really impressive one that takes year to be good at but a party trick nonetheless
>>7858074Praying that permabegschizo and russianschizo get good
Having fun with challenge52 actually. Forgot to count how many whatevers I'm doing but it's definitely giving me ideas.
>>7858030After the rose I wanted to do something else so I tried to copy the anime creature. I decided not to mess around with shading and try and get the image to be at least decipherable
>>7858107The original, the clothing and lower part of the hair was pretty hard, not 100% sure how to approach the whole thing, lightly sketch in big shapes first?
>>7858030Try challenge52. Some shmuck promises improvement on a structured basis. Seems alright if you can get past the first two weeks. https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/119LI3BrcDwq8cS6QKkcxI3NU_jhY6Brh
>>7858110never heard of it before. how is it for you so far?
>>7858091This looks a bit like drawabox but with a different name
>>7857563thanksies :3love your version of the girl>>7857535is no problem :3>>7857432
>>7858087>>7858074Praying that deer has sex with me
>>7858117It's definitely making me think about SOMETHING. Can't put my finger on it.>>7858119Maybe that's all it needs. I haven't touched drawabox because I started drawing as a child, and just am at the phase where my art just needs to be refined moreso than starting from the very basics. So, yeah, probably is. But boxes seem to be only for like the first three weeks? And we're already on Wednesday on most of the world. (week 1 for me)
>so many online art courses just consist of grinding out 100+ of the same thing on repeat until you get it and then moreFor being a creative task they're not creative in their teaching.
>>7858157I wonder if they're just like that because it's what works? The truest answer sometimes isn't really the most exciting thing. Additionally, that's what everyone in the past few threads has been doing too, no? Drawing the same loli animu, sex animu, etc every time.Repetition is the key apparently.
>>7857909What a useless post.
>>7858159I more meant that you can do more than just "grind out 250 boxes". If you're trying to learn 3 point perspective, throw in draw a city sky scrapers with windows (boxes and shape faces in perspective), draw an old west town street, put your name in block letters in 3 point perspective. Just something different to apply the skill.
>>7858180chef kissy
>>7858172I love you raxav
