Is anyone here making any money from this?It doesn't need to be much, it would just help me to get me motivated.
>>7856820i managed to get two commissions from online friends but thats it lol
I make 300-1000 bucks a month. Pic rel is my latest comm
>>7856820I made 0 rupees from my art :(
>>7856860Saaaaar >:(
>>7856820I wish those art youtube grifters make videos about this. “I tried but couldn’t get any commission”“I drew for 10000 hours without nothing to show for it”“I went to art school and now a NEET”Videos like that. Would be good for young people.
>>7856860i made art from 0 rupees :)
I'm working on 2 comms rn
>>7856820no. fuck you poser
>>7856820i reported this thread for being off topic
Being an artist is a lot like being a content creator or streamer. Drawing alone doesn’t make money. The community around the artist does.Even commissions depend on having a fanbase that wants to support you. Being an artist people care about is far more important than being good at drawing.
>>7856904>>7856898hit a nerve? also how is this off topic, you massive faggot?>>7856909Yeah, duh>>7856857>>7856896So are fetish art comms, still a thing?I really wanted to do sfw, also, i like making ocs, what are my options? No, art is not my job , but i still want to make something that other people want to see/would pay for
>>7856925People pay for personalized handcrafted art that tickles their funny bone. Fetish and sex sells. You can draw sfw, you can create OCs. But why would people pay you for that? I recommend you study what makes people spend money for art. There are plenty of artists who draw their og stories that are sfw but what separates those artists from artists who don't money from their content? Anyone can draw and draw Garfield, but only handful of artists make money from drawing Garfield or similar comic strips. And lot of internet users don't actually pay for the content.
>>7856925In my experience most comissions are drawing other people's OCs, most of the time NFSW (sometimes not), i've got only a few of people wanting my own OCThe other part is drawing fanart, again NSFW most of the time. So yeah if you want to draw sfw and your OCs only, i don't think you'll get many comms unless you're really really good
>>7856872>“I drew for 10000 hours without nothing to show for it”Sorry I'm beg but what is this about? Sounds horrifying
>>7856820one of my friends who now works in vidya started out by taking commisions on UpworkHe likes to paint fantasy-ish landscapes, somewhat similar in style to those old Jak&Daxter games if you've played thoseI think he got picked up by a studio in like 2021 when all this retarded that we now have to deal with was only beggining to blow upall in all I would say vidya is still the best place to pursue as an artist if you like illustrating and generally doing things by hand, alternatively you could diversify into some /gd/ type stuff like UI/UX or Motion Design, those seem to be getting more and more in demand
>>7856820I did a book cover for my mom and she sold 25 books
Yeah here and there. A commission, a print, stuff like that. Working on a book too so that should def make some money if thingd go well
>>7856820the only time i made cash4art was some fiverr-esque services IRL, made like 3-4 logos. about 140+ bucks. but that was in 5 years ago. it's fun, but my real goal is to make money from MY artwork. i want to make money for what i like to draw.
>>7856820i just coom to my own shit. thats worth more than money. first time i uploaded my sfw stuff i instantly got a bunch of subs (non paying), enough to get me on the most popular this week thingy, dont even understand how people found my shit so fast
>>7856820Yeah, a bit
No, learn STEM. AI already taking our job.
