What do I have to do to have my one shot of manga published?

Submit it to a publisher that then accepts it

>manga
You'll never be Japanese

Contact the publisher and show them your work. You realize they have open contact details and actively encourage newcomers to contact them right? At least, most publishers do.

I'll add that when it comes to any publishing you'll want to come off as flexible and selling a fun idea not your brain child.
Going off of one dude who had an eehhh looking fantasy manga that he was branding as his life work and "epic" for lack of better word, and then advertising it on Instagram as him grinding to be a mangaka, it feels like someone tangling with optimism or delusions.

>I wrote this thing I thought was fun, ran with an idea
Is vastly superior to
>This is my life work let me give you a lore essay

And then since you sign all to some ownership of your stuff to a publisher, coming off as a flexible person who can churn ideas out is ideal for them

I read bakuman and publishers say they dont discriminate on age or ethnicity. Skill is skill. Why dont you just self publish instead of being gatekept by some bozos in an office? The free market is what determines your success not some guys approval.

Very good advice and often a hard pill to swallow for artists.
Publishers have specific goals in mind for what they want to get across so it is better to have malleable material in both the idea and artist. Manga is a business first, not just art.

The freemarket doesn't have its eyes everywhere. The benefit from cooperating with publishers is reach and branching business opportunites for your work (adaptations, merch, etc)

Urusai baka. The Japanese government has ordained me an honorable Japanese person. Because I'm such a devoted weeb.

Published where? Are you from the 90s?

1. Learn Japanese.
2. Enroll in a Japanese art school.
3. Keep submitting oneshots to newcomer’s awards.
4. Get published.
5. Get an assistant job with the help of your editor.
6. Start a “Gaijin Mangaka” youtube channel.
7. kys

Publishing (light) novel is similar.

1. Bakuman is a work of fiction. Stop treating it like a textbook
2. Though yes, it is reasonable to say that they'll overlook just about anything so long as they believe you can make a work that will sell, this probably isn't the same kind of skill you're thinking of.
3. Self-publishing is even more of a rat-race than aiming for publication and straight up not an option for people who don't have savings to burn trying to make it work. Never mind that you'll almost certainly reach a much larger audience with a publisher than going it alone. Aiming for a professional publication makes a lot of sense.

>Wanting to work for the japanese
>When they're known for their suicidal work culture
>When the yen is worth dogshit
>When the work visa you'd get would expire the minute they fire you
Why?

>When the work visa you'd get would expire the minute they fire you
manga authors are not employees of publishers.
