I drew all the doohinki and the faces and did some of my ownNow what
>>7866413You did the whole book? That’s impressive. Make a piece incorporating everything you’ve learned
like draw somethig cool u would like 2 do w the skills u learnt
>>7866413that book is literally just an intro to drawing for all its worth
>>7866414I second this. This is the perfect checkpoint to test out your knowledge and see how much you've grown. It'll give you insight into what you enjoy the most and where your strengths currently lie. It'll help you create a stronger roadmap for the future.
>>7866425How advanced is that book? I've heard about it often, is it good to get into right after FWAP as a complete beginner?
>>7866413You did the realistic heads, figure, and the lessons in perspective and lighting as well... right?
>>7866439https://www.alexhays.com/loomis/Wayyyyyy more advanced. Loomis covers essentially everything you could cover when drawing the figure. Fun with a pencil is more of a fundie book than anything
>>7866443Any alternatives for learning figure drawing in that case? I've learned that bodies are way harder to draw than I thought
>>7866449I mean there are a ton of books but there aren’t any shortcuts. Figure drawing is a lifelong journey ngl
>>7866453I just meant any other resources for someone with less experience in drawing, including books. I don't want to try to practice and learn from a book that's meant for an audience with much more knowledge and experience
>>7866413Biggest meme ever, book is thinner than a magazine and just glosses over everything
>>7866458I mean the book gradually takes you into the more advanced parts with mannequins and simple proportion guides. There are a lot of figure drawing artists out there, and none are necessarily easy. I say give Paul Richer a shot. He’s very underrated and draws with a lot of clarity. https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Category:Anatomie_artistique_(Paul_Richer)https://archive.org/details/nouvelleanatomie02rich/page/n5/mode/1up
>>7866461it's basically just the introductory chapter of FDFAIW for children
>>7866413>beats the tutorialTime for the real deal oppaTaco and Stonehouse
>>7866413did you have fun?
>>7866413>he went through fun with a pencil>still don't know how to draw on his ownI don't think you understood the actual boomer words from Loomis lmao
>>7866458maybe hampton's figure drawing design and invention, I wasn't a complete beginner when I picked it up but I didn't know much about figure drawing at all. if you do give it a try look up his youtube channel, especially the videos where he goes through what's in the book, it makes some of the stuff easier to understand.
