that's an interesting idea! I have to think about it. His tail is essentially a giant lizard / serpent tail that changes color from green to brown. I also have an OC with antennae, so maybe horns are a bit too close to antennae? idk :S I'll have to draw Lizardman naked again since his lower half is all probably a bit weird. I think one improvement you could make would be paying attention to your hard edges and soft edges, but especially your hard edges. Looking at other artworks/IRL examples will help you understand how better to render human body. Sorry if this is worded poorly, but I hope this helps!

According to me, who browses this board? Not to mention that there are often people coming in here lamenting that the "male" general doesn't necessarily include their type of men. Most artists here (women) have moved to another general, and it seems that focusing on demographic rather than subject matter has worked well for them. As a bi guy that has ascended past femboys, the women here have peak taste and this is one of the only places I've found that isn't women only that also focuses on female gaze males.
I honestly think what's happening now is why that is the case. If men are allowed, and the subject is about males, men get entitled and want the general to cater to them and what they like. So you end up with male gaze, gay toons, young boys, bara and femboys, which are also often things women don't like as often or in a different way, so they just leave to focus on the art they enjoy. And to make sure the same shit doesn't happen again they have to make the space for women only. Like even the yaoi board drawthread is mostly weird gay toons, not hot anime dudes.
I like this place, I would be sad to see it fork into more gender segregated generals, but I would also understand why

Fragmenting was always going to happen when people refused to respect the polite request to post certain things in other places. No sense in staying together much longer if the people contributing to this general the LEAST are going to regularly muddying the water of what cute guy should be by posting teenagers, undermine thread rules, and alienate the main demographic who actually built this general from the ground up. Personally, I enjoyed seeing many of the gay artist throughout the years but it's clear that this split would benefit both parties in the end should they give the gay art general a chance. Just my two cents.

This general, let alone this thread, has been on life support for years now. It's practically dead, and scrolling through this thread alone, it seems the only times there's an uptick in participation is for art dumps from off-site groups and textslop bait.
Outsiders keep coming in, refuse to integrate, not reading the rules let alone follow them, and then derail the thread arguing with the native population because, like other anon said, they feel entitled to dictating what this community should be, not considering that the thread had the success it did BECAUSE of those rules. Now that most of the native population has moved elsewhere, this thread is even more dead, and I wouldn't be surprised if this were among the last.
The Gay Art General is unironically the last boat for people left behind to create their own community with their own rules that they obviously want because they keep coming in here every few weeks to beg for it, and if /gag/ isn't inclusive enough, then perhaps you should collaborate with their OP or make your own general.

As you've said, this will probably benefit 'both' parties, women who want a place for female gaze art, and men who are upset because their fleshlight beefcake, femboy or shota art was scorned and didn't give them the validation they thought it would.
The only people this won't benefit is the seemingly very small minority of guys who enjoy what you've built and want to play along with those rules, because they actually admire and like how women draw males or just draw in general.
The split is understandable, based and even deserved. Since it's unreasonable to expect you to martyr yourselves and withstand the constant influx of entitled, upset and or clueless male artists who couldn't bother to do the bare minimum and get a feel for the thread culture or get it and want to stir shit anyways.

Its commendable that people enjoy /cgsg/ but it clear that the community (mostly women with interest outside of drawing male focused art all of the time) has already reinvested into /WAO/ at this point. And while I get what you're saying, it's kind of the point that he's not ACTUALLY this perfect statuesque icon, he's a fragile, clingy schizo who is forced into that role due to his powers. I'll play with his proportions a bit more though.

I guess I would suggest some broader shoulders for a more confident heroic posture.
If they are narrow on purpose, perhaps the costume can compensate for it with even broader/larger shoulder pads to give of the same effect. Then again, I'm a beg/int so not very confident is my assessment.

I think the main problem of people getting confused and going against the general thread culture was definitely the word 'cute'.
Unless you know the specific context the word is being used in, at least from a male perspective, making something cuter, generally means making it more feminine and or smaller, softer, with a bigger head and larger eyes, like in baby humans and animals.
Guy and male are sort of age ambiguous, guy less so, but still. So when you add cute to them like cute male and cute guy, people into younger males, femboys and shota will feel like those fit the thread title the most.
Maybe a tiny rebrand like handsome guy study general - hgsg, or cute men study general - cmsg could work, or perhaps some other word like beautiful male/guy/men study etc.
It would be less ambiguous, it would also cut affiliation cleaner while keeping the general theme and spirit alive.

Now, with presumably less women to enforce the culture and without something like a rebrand, I think it will pretty predictably morph into something akin to the /cm/ board which seems dominated by shota and femboys.
Then again, maybe I'm the only one against that. Such an outcome might be why you're optimistic for a new culture rather than for a new community. It might also be the only way the thread survives, at least in name.
Not sure how much interest there even is for cute men over cute boys if femanons stay mostly segregated and gay guys post to /GAG/ instead. Probably just a handful of bi dudes who've ventured beyond femboys.

Everything is solved by migrating to /gag/. The origin /cgsg/ began with femanons being tired of not having a thread to post in after assholen kept trying to pushed them out of oc redraw despite them hard carrying that thread at the time. It was always a woman owned and operated community in its entire duration, hense the particular rules baring certain things despite begin "cute/guys" (it was alway just colloquial for attractive male art, not literal demands for them to be cute). /gag/ puts rest the mental gymnastics of all these quantifiers of what should go in the thread by being general enough to encompasses rather than restrict the community and imo it makes sense to build a new community than change one that was so dead that people operating it made a new community before abandoning this one.

I see no reason to exclude women, or even ftm/mtf either for that matter.
An overarching gay theme rather than just general male focus is also a bit restrictive. There would definitely be people complaining about art being too straight or not gay enough, even if the general sentiment is that everything is allowed, which is a tad bit annoying.

The point of /GAG/ is not about being gay or being male, because gay/bi men draw slender animu boys as well. It's just bara. There may be some wiggle room, but the whole point of the gen is for drawings of realistic and muscular men. Maybe fatties too. That's it. But these are still allowed in cgsg. Stop worrying about the sex of posters, there's women who draw bara, and there's men who draw turbo tranny shit or otherwise employ typical female art styles.
