What do you suggest?I like some thing local that will not start extorting for subscription money.Something pirated or GPL(Linux).I did hear people use blender however I need some rigs for that.Any suggestions?PS: Picture is from some (((WEB))) app (very dirty word)
hijacking your thread anon -- does anyone think posemy.art is worth the buy? a lifetime sub is 99 usd right now
>>7868030>hijacking your thread anonNo problem.> a lifetime sub is 99>> a lifetime subSorry that is bullshit they change their mind or the website will die and you got nothing. > 99Yea however think of it like this imagine learning this crap and wasting all this time for it all to be shutdown or lifetime being redefined to not mean lifetime. Meanwhile you can run the pirated software from 1995! Watch more Louis Rossmann!
>>7868048how old are you out of curiosity
>>7868048also i agree with>Sorry that is bullshit they change their mind or the website will die and you got nothing. there not being a local app is suspicious
>>7868019>>7868030What benefit is there to using these web apps over Blender? At least DesignDoll has shape keys built in and an intuitive way of positioning joints, but these apps don't seem to offer anything that standard 3D modelling applications don't have.
>>7868019overkill i'd say.hack at it until you get good at it.professional manga artists who used to have a beautiful natty style have plummeted after exactly such an "upgrade".
>>7868106Do you know how to setup blender to make it easy to pose like the other programs? I know it's easily the best option of all programs and I've used it to light static objects and scenes, but I can't figure out how to find good models and make them poseable.
>>7868106>BlenderI repeat myself:>I did hear people use blender however I need some rigs for that.
>>7868395>I did hear people use blender however I need some rigs for that. There should be a lot of free models that are already rigged out there, and I'm pretty certain there are add-ons that do some simple auto rigging too, though that would likely be hit and miss, but it should be good enough just to pose a model for references, surely.Hell, depending on the model, you might not even need rigging, it's not too hard to simply move limbs around and pose a character - assuming there aren't too many vertices, that can make it more of a hassle. Megaman legends was made without the use of rigs, for example, and you only need to pose a character for references.
Blender with the MakeHuman addon is decent once you know how to navigate Blender and pose a standard rig.I prefer blender for what it offers over everything else. Hdri lighting, fov, complete control, etc.
>>7868106do you carve spoons out of wood every time you want to eat cereal?
>>7868410>There should be a lot of free models that are already rigged out thereAnyone has any or can recommend links?>that do some simple auto rigging tooThis literally sounds like>Bro simply make your own sculpting tools!Yes while this is possible I wanted to start using the rigs not fucking around in making one.>auto rigging tooWE are talking about models who need to have every finger rigged and they do not need to be the le realistic waifu models they only need to be good enough for drawing.I wanted to know what others used and try different software with different solution since I know blender however posing a character was always a pain in blender.>>7869043>I prefer blender for what it offers over everything else. Hdri lighting, fov, complete control, etc.I'm sorry is this /3/ ?> Hdri lighting????You are not on /3/ !>I prefer blenderWhat rigs do people actually use on /ic/ if they use blender and please do not say >Hdri lighting, fov,
>>7868155Blender's posing interface is as intuitive as the others by default. All you need to do is import a model and its rig, select it, and enter the pose mode. From here, you can rotate the bones like you would those other programs. Blender just seems daunting because it provides many more features than those programs do, but you don't have to use them.>I can't figure out how to find good models and make them poseable. Some of the justsketch.me models come from Mixamo, and those are apparently rigged (I haven't tried them so I don't know for sure).
>>7869512Anon thank you, Your comment made me look for models and I got this:https://sketchfab.com/3d-models/planar-human-base-rigs-15a1d670d29b4195a10c23dca0d13da9Here is a quick thing I made just to show that it is possible to easily pose in blender, really cool stuff.
>>7868030NoDesignDoll is better
>>7869501I go a bit beyond for 3D references. Is it overkill for 2D drawing? Yes.Anyways, the MakeHuman addon is decent for something like DesignDoll. You can generate a rigged human with custom portions if no models on the internet are satisfactory.
>>7869774>MakeHuman addonI used that years ago when it was astand alone program. It generated these super complex models with all detailed teeth etc.And they where strange like if you took a generic average human and made them slightly fat and tall. Basically like some generic soccer mom or something. Not use if I want to use them for reference since I want to do the le super hero comics etc.Are they Ok now?
>>7869512Thanks.I try it.However I like to know what others actually use.>Blender just seems dauntingI use blender and have for years. The problem with blender is that it is cryptic and ass backwards.I remember how strange it was back in the day. Remember when left and right click was reversed? Remember the hidden menu for settings that was next level hidden? I remember. As for pose mode it is a big WTF.Since the pose mode makes you model snap into one pose and you have a time line.... How do you store poses? On the timeline like remember what pose is what?Is there no way to make like a bank of default poses? That is not this level of retarded as to store them all on the timeline?
>>7870185By default they generate with minimal features and need assets to fill things like eyes and teeth in.The main thing is that you can tweak proportions and muscles to however you want them. They don't look the best but they're ok for my use case.I just might consider that sketchfab model since it focuses on the planes of the body.>>7870196You can set up an asset library for poses but because Blender, it is far far from intuitive.
>>7870307>but because Blender, it is far far from intuitive. My point!
I'm surprised that no one has mentioned DAZ yet. I find it very intuitive, and it's free.
>>7868019>>7868155How exact do the models need to be? It's relatively easy to just slap a built-in default model and rig it up with Rifigy. It's not precise but it can be used to help with basic composition and posing.
>>7870414Upload the models you used!
>>7870732https://studio.blender.org/training/stylized-character-workflow/base-meshes/Just plonk these into whatever you have set as your "Blender Asset Folder", then plonk them into a model using the Asset Browser editor. Then enable Rigify and rig everything up (not hard but you might want to review a tutorial to get the positioning right)
>>7868106Designdoll is not only the best for this but you can even export the models out to obj if you need a basemesh for stylistic characters.
nips on twitter suggested the app MagicPoser. You get the male model for free but it will try to extort you for the female model and for all their “pro” models (but hey, perfect opportunity to flex that anatomy by taking a male model and making it female). Perfect for when you’re on the go.
>>7868019You posted it.
>>7868019do you know what could be really fun? a random 3D pose generator
what i want to know is why are anatomy programs so pricy? how do i pretend to be a student
>>7868030i still need someone to help me with the xp pen driver for linux my self the shit keeps workin after a reboot then after a couple minutes it just stops responding and doesnt react to any pen strokes
>>7880055Are you using the official driver? I recommend Open Tablet Driver. It works well with my XP Pen tablet out of the box.
>>7880125yea i was trying to use the one from AUR and even xppen but would the OTD be a better choice anon?
>>7880170imo, yeah. OTD has some nice plugins and allows me to switch to configs for each app. You're using an arch based distro? I'm afraid I wont be of much help with problems.
>>7880187youre fine its more to go off of my friends dont draw so im on my own for this but ill look in to it for sure later tonight
>>7880187also i forgot to ask should i just disable the driver arch has would that conflict with OTD?
>>7880770If it's tablet related probably. Refer to OTD's website if you need installation help so it autostarts on boot. I hope it works as well for you as it does for me.
>>7880785yea im not sure i tried such but for some reason in still just drops my pen inputs i guess even with a clean install ill have to try again later i had tried wayland and x11 and still drops inputs on both
>>7881363If it doesn't work with a clean install I think you should eliminate any chance of it being hardware related.Otherwise, you might have to run this by a dev if Arch packages are causing problems.
>>7868019I've been (slowly) learning blender. Comes with the added benefit of teaching you to thin in 3D. Plus it's just a cool/useful skill to have.

I use CSP but the models are only so good, especially if you wanna push gesture. For most of my anatomy studies I take a photo, download a model from smutbade, and manipulate it in blender until it halfway looks like itNever underestimate porn artists attention to detail
>>7868019why is CSP 4 full of viruses? it there truly no clean version for high seas sailors?
