Most advanced artists here are begs...Even a critically acclaimed comic artist like Enki Bilal would be considered a beg by Russian academic standards...
>>7881640>by Russian academic standards...If their art is so great, why aren't we raving about it, instead of a fucking wall banana?
>>7881651A wall banana has more soul than copy paste academic Russian rendering desu.

>>7881640>>7881656Russian academic drawings are spotty, over-detailed and kind of ugly. Compare to the French and Italians, who understood the importance of separating the light and dark masses and not hurting the effect by putting dark spots in the light mass and lights in the dark mass. Also a better sense of aesthetics overall.
>>7881816just say you're gay, buddy
>>7881640yes anon generally when an institution sets disciplinary standards anybody outside of the standards will be considered in need of sticking closer to those standards/beg/groids need to understand that there are different levels of knowledge needed for different 'goals within art'. do you want to be good at illustration?do you want to be good at comics? do you want to be good at twitter blobslop? do you want to be good at russian neoclassical academic art?what do you want to do with your art skills, anon? storytelling? pre-production? entertainment? are you aware that 'being good at art' is too broad of a goal and trying to 'be good at all of art' is a waste of time?
>>7881817He's probably just European.
>>7881869We're going to have to ask you to stop being so sensible and non-inflammatory, buddy.
Why do people get so fixated and obsessed over russia and china, they just work very hard and are good at what they do, this makes people seethe uncontrollably apparently.Eastern cultures value discipline and work, western cultures values 'innate' ingenuity and genius. In the west you are either born a genius or have to give up.
>>7881906>In the west you are either born a genius or have to give up.its how "they" control you

>>7881640Russians have the best art schools in the world, I would really like to be lucky enough to find a course taught by a Russian art professional to learn from...They are amazing at fine arts.
>>7881640>>7881656who wants to bet that these gorgeous pieces of work were taken 1-to-1 from a live model reference?they're very nice artworks, but being an artist is about more than just technical skills. these artists are basically tracing, just from real life observation rather than another artist's work. i think it's more impressive that a lot of concept artists can make something cohesive that never existed before. they might use references, but you can't wholesale copy the way still life artists do.>>7881651anyone mentioning the banana is a sharty troll.
>>7881640the most advanced artists don't even do art. get on their level.https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=Pov0MKuyJfg

>>7881640No one cares about what some ruskies think. they have no notable works of art. Even a high begs and low int amerimutt comic artists mogs advance russian artists in terms of notable work.
>>7881640it's fine you are not drawing either way.
>>7881816>Prud'honMan had more skill in his fingernail than all russians combined
>>7881640>School committed to producing the absolute best of the best, nearing peak human capability>Being compared to what is otherwise considered an "Average" bestThis is the difference between the physical ability of someone who works out 5 hours a week vs an elite taskforce operative. what many people consider to be a capable and disciplined individual doesn't cut it when you're aiming for standards so incredibly high that even small mistakes are glaring.Russian artists aim for absolute, unflinching realism and perfection. the kind of shit that will eat away at your soul. The kind of art that spends time measured in weeks to make. You will be able to represent everything, anything, and nothing all at once. It's why their courses are years long, have huge budget requirements, and often take up a 9-5 schedule. Think whiplash. By the time you reach their standards, you are such an absolute master of the skill you're ready for anything, and you've put your absolute all into mastering the hobby through strict teachers and strict rules. Good chance you also will hate everyone and everything by the time it's over, but that's what being truly passionate about something does to you if you decide to go through training.
>>7894780Russian art looks like shit thoIt's kitschy, unmemorable and soulless..A barbaric orc horde will never make good artThere's a reason no one remembers a single artist from the USSR meanwhile van Gogh has millions of visitors each year
>>7891903Honestly I think the reason is that they have such autistic standards on what they consider good that any deviation Is seen as heresy. It's almost like schools there are brainwashing apparatuses/humiliation rituals Eastern cultures don't tolerate deviation very wellI personally think standards are good but not to the point that it stifles creativity. And breaking them often generated really good art in the process
>>7890372I've had a Russian academic tutor, who studied in some art school in Moscow. He was pretty good but he absolutely loathed drawing from imagination and told me drawing from anything other than real life isn't drawing because you risk making anatomical or perspective mistakes. It gave me a viewpoint into the Russian mind. They really view drawing as a form of tracingHe hated comic books and manga and would scold me for drawing them lol
>>7895201It was kind of unbearable too because apparently in his academy they didn't do gesture drawing. They drew figures using observation and measuring bargue style I tried explaining it to him and he said it's not a real form of drawing lolHe held on to his academic standards very rigidly
>>7895205Sounds like he would make an amazing /ic/ shitposter.
