60 second gesture drawing is shit because it made me stressed about running out of time now I do unlimited time gesture drawing until I feel its finished and I've made a lot more progress

You know you don't really have to stop at 60 secs? You won't get in trouble if you take a bit longer or even go back to the gesture so you can make it more complete!

60 sec gestures is more of an exercise to get loose rather than to create beautiful gestures imo 120secs+ would actually be more in the wheel house of actual gestures. They're also great for getting to know a new medium without fear of messing up because there's so little time investment.
