>watch video on anatomy >only retain like 40% of it is this normal?
It's not normal. 40% is way above what most retain. Watch more and practice, that 40% is pretty awesome.
>do anatomy study>retain 0%Haha couldn't be me
I wish teachers would use colloquial names. Just call it the upper arm bone man
what i want to know is if this happens to me do i just rewatch the video? do i draw from imagination or referencing a figure, and try to match up the anatomy with the figure until i run into something i just cant remember and i rewatch the vid? i really want to draw i need to get good at anatomy too since the stuff i want to draw requires a deep understanding of it
>>7894005>>watch video on anatomy >>only retain like 40% of ityes. your brain is taxed with shit other than remembering how to draw things. further, you cannot really learn anything by simply observing. you must apply that knowledge directly or it will be gone. so draw immediately and follow along or what you watched will be discarded by your brain as bullshit you don't need.
>>7894391> repetition> reference> draw from memory to see if you got itlather, rinse, repeat
anatomy is easy, the body doesn't transform that much when you rotate it, so learning the muscles really does help you draw it doing any reasonable pose. forshortened and extreme angles are an exception but you dont need anatomy for that because those angles defy reality inherently so you have to learn how the new shape looks.the real nightmare is clothing, its humanly impossible to draw shit like hats or glasses or shoes in any angle. you have to just memorize the main angles since they're completely unrelated to each other in shape and form. They're just blobs that you have to study because while you see hands and heads every day, you never really get to stare at shoes from the front, you're always looking from above.
>>7894005Gotta do things to remember it. Took me way too long to realize it, maybe I wouldn't suck at math now if I knew that.
>>7894005Yes. 40% is very good. Watch and practice.... again
