Is there any way to make drawing more enjoyable? I like the idea of being an artist
>>7894685Kys
>>7894685It's only enjoyable if you are really good at it. Coloring also makes it more enjoyable, if the colors are good, but again, you have to be good at it
>>7894690I'm good at it but I no longer enjoy it
>>7894685Lol this is the most /ic/ post ever
You probably take art too seriously. Ironically there are more drawings on /i/ than here, so give doodling a try; let intuition be your guide.Draw more, talk and idealize less.
>>7894685Draw what you like, what makes your brain happy. If thats cool gundams or guns or big boobies or boys kissing, do it
whats b tter, drawing everyday when you're unmotivated and getting nothing done, or waiting until you're at 100% so your drawing in flow state but most of the time not drawing?

>>7894685Play video games for a few hours . Then draw
>>7894713>/i/Wait what, how have I never seen this before? There's another entire board for drawing and people actually draw there. What the fuck?
>>7894722basically this with something very important to add:you need to find a method and style that is enyoiable. you must know if you like high realistic stuff or rough rugged better.
>>7894949>Wait what, how have I never seen this beforebecause you're a newfag
>>7894949It's older than /ic/.
>>7894840gemmy>>7894685obviously I can only speak for myself, but what helped enjoy drawing more>building a habit: once I started drawing at least twenty minutes daily my output increased dramatically since 20 minutes isn't a lot but once you start you often end up motivated to draw a lot more>having some sort of muse, a certain subject matter or character you can just spam, drawing your waifu being cute etc>drawing from life is ALWAYS an option when you're absolutely out of ideas, pretty much everything can be a fun subject to draw

>>7894690Another NPC nigger take with the implication that pro artists just fart and a masterpiece comes out
>>7894992i keep saying this. beginners and nodraws think that it doesnt take hours upon hours to get to a good level and then you will still draw or paint several hours on a single piece at times. some /beg/ posts like a 10 minute drawing and asks why he did it wrong when the answer is obvious
>>7894949shame it's so deadthreads like 'draw what happens next' take a week between posts
>>7894992Nice strawman, retard. Maybe you should learn to read first
>>7895037>talk about drawing board>1,000 of posts a day>actually draw board>1 post per day
>>7894685Personally, I only find enjoyment in drawing when I see some improvement during that process
>>7894694something might be wrong your brain. i mean unless you're just bored of it.
>>7894992the good ones do. talent is being able to create high quality with comparitively less effort. I can draw great things but I have to grind a long time to do it and it pretty much only comes out through trial and error. Sure it takes a long time to get good, but they're still working less than a permabeg in the same amount of time. the effort to output function is the same for everyone. Some people started out level 25 and only need 2000 EXP to get to 50, while others like me started out level 2 and need a million EXP to get to level 25.
>>7895406I mean the effort to output function is NOT the same for everyone
>>7895406This. Hard work is a sign of incompetence, but this goes directly against the ideology of all the slave-mind-cattle out there. For them being weak means being good and if you are strong you are evil.
Hebrew thread
you can't
>>7895006you say this but this is fundamentally falsea beg can spend 10 hours on a drawing and it will still come out worst than a good artist spending 10 minutes on a sketchit has nothing to do with the time spent on a single drawing, it has to do with the amount of iterations you did previously
>>7895570way to not even read the post, brainlet
>>7894685draw a penis. on everything.
>>7895579>way to not even read the post, brainlet>beginners and nodraws think that it doesnt take hours upon hours to get to a good level and then you will still draw or paint several hours on a single piece at times>some /beg/ posts like a 10 minute drawing and asks why he did it wrong when the answer is obviousenlighten me
>>7895588Lol this looks like some shit table guy would do
>>7895406What the fuck kind of exp per level scaling is that.
>>7895570People need to think getting good at something is like a video game where you just wait for the progress bar to fill up and you become good. The reality is its more like pokemon where each pokemon has a cap on how their stats can ever be.
>>7897442Yet even Pokemon can evolve.
>>7897442>People need to think getting good at something is like a video game where you just wait for the progress bar to fill up and you become good. The reality is its more like pokemon where each pokemon has a cap on how their stats can ever be.youre a funny guy to use a videogame as bad and good example at the same time because your brain cant process that just drawing and studying something for a long time would get you good. its a big time investment, no matter how you look at it, if its talent or not, you still will have to sink in hours into studies and the pieces no matter how advanced you are. beginners underestimate the time spent on each, thats why theyre beginners. you cant just draw from nothing and do it very fast.
>>7897442It is a lot like becoming good at a PVP game like an FPS or an RTS.It can take thousands and thousands of hours of playing the game to get good, and some people are just immediately good, and some people will never be. You can read theory, watch youtube videos or hire a coach to accelerate your progress, but in the end it's more about your natural aptitude + the amount of work you put in.
Good, keep liking the idea only. Go play video games.
>>7894685What if don't give a shit about being an artist but I like to draw
>>7894685Just fucking draw. If you’re an overthinker with a million hyper self-aware criticisms floating through your head at all times then nothing you do is going to be fun.
>picIt's the opposite for me
>>7894685Me whenever I draw a nice ass
>>7894685weed
>>7894685It's the same as working out for me.When you start as a fatass, it's fucking awful, you feel like you can't do anything and everyone else in the gym seem to progress a lot faster, look way better and internal thoughts just drag you down. It's not fun.But after keeping up, putting effort in, and having discipline - regardless of what you think you level is, is how you actually improve. Sitting on a bench coming up with excuses won't make you progress. It's how I see learning how to draw/art in a 1:1 scale.Being bad isn't fun, but if you don't put in the effort to MAKE it fun/enjoyable/pleasurable, it will never be.
>>7902143That's a pretty good analogy, anon. Thanks.
>>7894685>I like the idea of being an artistKEK
>>7894685>Is there any way to make drawing more enjoyable?Unironically work on it until you can see improvement. You do this by comparing your recent art to the old one. There's no bigger incentive than the realization that you are making progress.

>>7906517trvke i am miles away from my ideal but i am miles away from where i started, too. it feels good to know steady and deliberate practice won’t fail you
