you can't "just draw", you're limited by many things which makes it hard to actually improve. First, you want to draw things that are good, right? For art to be good, it has to be interesting. For it to be interesting, it has to be novel on some level. Basically you want to draw original things that you come up.So you want to draw a coherent idea that is comprehensible on some level, right? Now you have to check if that idea is within your skillset, and it likely isn't because if its interesting to you then that means its novel and different, which means you have little experience drawing it. So you need references and you need to study them.Hours later, you improved, now you can draw the thing you were imagining. But it still sucks, the idea was shit to begin with. The truth is you can't just draw anything, you're LIMITED to a discreet set of appealing compositions. If all the drawings you will ever draw are numbers on a number scale, then there are infinitely many numbers/drawings. But the decent ones are the whole numbers. Still an infinite amount, but you want to draw GREAT things. those are the prime numbers. You have a good dozen of them, maybe you can find the first fifty of them easily, but after that its a long and hard search through thousands of shitty numbers to find the next prime.
