It's supposedly coming out this month. What are you looking forward to?
I'm using Photoshop CS6 from 2009. I'm good.
only drawing performance for painting reasons.I love CSP and its brush engine but at the same time hate it because goddamn the brushes are heavy.
>>7895762just more bloatthey are too greedy
Do they do a sale on .0 releases?
>>7895762if they can streamline their timeline's file operation and remove duplicative and unintuitive way in which their animation cel is managed it would made it a lot more usable. Additionally, some of the timeline's properties could have just being on the timeline pane itself instead of having to go into the menus.
>>7895781Kek mines 2011
>>7895762>boost drawing performanceCan we finally use the texture brush at 300 px?
>>7895762They really are just releasing this like every 6 months or so, aren't they? v1 is enough for me, there's only been a couple of updates that interest me, but I just can't be bothered to upgrade.
waiting for a Crack like every other X.0 version
Gonna upgrade from v1. It's about time. I just hope it doesn't fuck up most of my current settings
>>7896741EX or Pro ?
review of the only thing I care about: larger brushes are still laggy as ever but simple pens are so smooth even at maximum size now, bucket tool also faster.
>>7896742Pro. I think it's fine. I use it every day. I can pay the 13 bucks for the upgrade
>>7896746yeah pro is cheap enough i'm using ex that why i usualy crack it
i'm on ver 4 but I don't think this is worth 20 dollars, will wait for 6
So far the things I like with ver 5> smart shape (aka what procreate does)> reorient transformation tools> a bit faster brush at around 300-500px. 1000px and above is still laggy but at least more usable now> multiple layer tonal correction but you have to select those layers, cant do it on a folder. can be handy when I want to change multiple layer of the same character like the hair and dont have to note down the hsv value)desu this should just be an update lol. Probably worth an update pass (like $11) if you use it a lot.I have the EX update pass since I also do comics and large variant commissions. layer comps are fucking godsend for these and they knew it that's why they paywalled it into the EX.
>>7895762Will this shit actually use GPU now?
>>7896813>smart shapeisn't that just the "vector" brush thingy we already have?
do they still required internet connection for use ?
>>7896813A version jump for essentially something that could be an update back in the 1.x days is current CELSYS. And the "faster brush engine" still sucks lol. Disappointing. Also, the faster brush setting was in the update pass for a good while now.
>>7896856but at least they're making MONEY! MONEY MONEY MONEY MONEY!!!
>>7896915Sometimes it feels like people really are retarded cattle that deserves to be treated this way
>>7895904it's on sale right now until tuesday next week.
>>7895762will they finally implement actual GPU acceleration this time? otherwise I don't care.
test
>>7895762>Introduce the ability to do tonal corrections on multiple layers>Can't do this by selecting the folder, have to select them manually>No new means to select multiple layers (i.e. via layer comps, or by "pallet color"Nips are literally retarded. It would take an intern like a day to add that shit.
Fuckers don't allow a discounted jump from 3.0 to 5.0, gotta double dip the upgrade. Jewy Japs.
>>78970491.X here it cost almost the same to upgrade form 1.X to 5 lol
>>7896974japs artst doesnt care i see most of them shilling the new 5.0 update
>>7896856I'm more than happy to throw my money at japanese devs who are currently buttfucking every other epsterican-made art software. Mald more
>>7896938Should I get it at 30% off? Doesn't it normally go higher?
lmao just pay for the update pass you guys don't even draw anyway.
Retards give me a hand with thisIf I just purchased the One Device yearly, what does One Device mean? Is that license stuck on a single device? Or is it like "You can use the software on a single device at any time"?
>>7897205Ex? Haven't seen it go lower Honestly dunno if I'd pay that much just for the animation features
>>7897256It means one device, illiterate fuck.
>>7897205>>7897266Best value is buy a 1.0 EX off ebay for 20-50 bucks and then pay for the update pass 30 dollars every year to always have it up to date.
>>7895762>he updates when prompted AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA FUCKING AUTISTIC FUCKS AHAHAHAHAHAHA
im still using 1.8.8, is there any reason to update if I dont care about using all the fancy 3D model or smart shape cheats I just want to draw stuff
>>7896816No. It's still laggy as shit. It doesn't even fucking use multi-threading for brushes.
>>7896740This is the only real answer>>7897205Do NOT buy it unless you’re okay with the program being inaccessible if you’re not connected to the internet for a few days You don’t truly own this program unlike 1.0.
>>7897404>it unless you’re okay with the program being inaccessible if you’re not connected to the internet for a few days they still doing that ? lmao that was the reason i went to piracy instead of buying
>>7897492Yes. Every 15 days they check if you’re connected to the internet to see if your license is legit. So if you’re experiencing some wifi outage that day you’re screwed. Fuck them, I’m gonna pirate it. A shame because 5.0 perpetual license is on sale for only 30 bucks at the moment. The original 1.0 is the only version that doesn’t require internet at all
Did they finally fix the brush performance after a decade of it being unusable for painting? I watched the youtube video about the update and they finally addressed the only problem I had with the software. I don't know whether to believe it.
>>7897571I just updated to test out the trial version, to answer anyone wondering the same thing no they didn't. Its exactly as shit as its always been. Its infuriating how a single issue prevents the program from being usable and they continue to add pointless features without addressing the most important problem.
>>7895762Does version 5.0 come with the ‘My Creative Hours’ option, or do I need to pay for another premium? kek
>>7897577What would you want from an illustration app, besides the performance I mean?
>>7897790Yes, it's included
>Has no actual new content>expects me to fucking paywhat is this gay shit
how the fuck do i put my tabs up here. i want this space full.
>>7897577You need to set it on 'automatic' for your brush under "speed and quality", which is under anti-aliasing in your brush's settings for some reason. It's noticeably better, at least for me on my mid-range PC.
>>7897881It's better but still not even on par with photoshop's shitty ass brush engine. Anything with a texture starts slowing at a moderate speed and I have a 9950X3D.
>>7895781Mine is 2022 alongisde, a pirated csp.
I got ver 1.0 Pro version. If I wanna get the EX upgrade, will this do?
>>7896817No it's basically the draw and hold to activate fine tune on your strokes or convert them to lines/shapes. If you use HiPaint, Infinite Painter or Procreate this feature is pretty standard. CSP is VERY slow in rolling in features that are common in other drawing app. My bet their next version feature is more filters and context aware fill (already exist in Photoshop ages ago)
>>7896974I don't get it either. Japs are retarded.
>>7895762Is it worth even upgrading? Last time I upgraded they fucked up the folder routing on my tablet, and tablet folders and UI are hellish compared to PCs.
>>7900076unless you doing manga/comic proffesionaly (even then) or rely on 3D model it not worth
>>7901269I originally used Paint.Sai and Krita, but changed software when an art-friendo was singing it's praises and then I bought it discounted. When I upgraded, it fucked everything up. I REALLY hate that they change the folder routing when you do upgrade and they don't have an option to mass import files from one folder to another on tablet/mobile UI. Got like 200+ files and I REALLY don't wanna transfer them over to a new folder with each file having to transfer each one-by-one in that shitty tablet/mobile software crap. I mess with some comics, but I'm not super impressed with the software for it.
>>7895762I'd love for it to get Linux support, but considering the csp reddit deleted literally every single thread about making it work with wine. I doubt it.Shame, Krita doesn't offer everything I liked on CSP
>>7901548Idk wtf happened to Krita as of late, but that shit barely works anymore. Default keybindings are constantly not, slow asf, it used to be a great alternative.
>>7901548at the bottom of the rules of the csp reddit there is a link to a new subreddit about running csp on linux
>>7899918This is a separate license, you'd own 1.0Pro and 1.0 Ex
>>7896813>this should just be an update lolevery version they release post 1.0 feels like this
Are they actually going to add better animation tools or are they following the approach that all companies seem to be taking these days of boating their software with shit features nobody asked for so they can justify price increases. Looking at you spotify.
>>7902227Hahahahha
No
>>7902227if by these days you mean since 50s then yeah of course thats how for profit software justifies its profits
>>7895762if Shift + Left Click still doesn't make a straight line WITH pressure sensitivity like in photoshop then I still can't use it.
>"Boosted drawing performance">just makes the brush quality worseIncredible!I bet 6.0 will feature "Boosted Canvas Performance", and it'll dynamically scale your canvas to 640x480 while drawing!
How do I pirate a recent version of CSP without viruses?
i have been using 1.93 ex for years why would i ever upgrade
>>7905966i cant wait for dlss mutli frame generation for drawing bro
