My faces are good but my bodies are abysmal. What books should I get for deep studying? Once I get the books I plan on not using the computer or my phone until April in order for me to actually improve.

Idk anon it’s hard to say any books because most of the books you’d want can likely be found online, unless you just really want a physical copy. I recommend any Paul richer book, perspective made easy, the perspective drawing handbook, maybe a sketchbook collection from a master like KJG, a concept art book, drawn to life, etc. It really depends on what your goals as an artist are and where you stand skill wise

Morpho and Loomis are also good too

I would prefer physical copies. I'm sick of looking at a screen. I want to make manga inspired comics. Thanks for the suggestions.

How to Draw by Scott Robertson
How to Render by Scott Robertson
Color and Light by James Gurney
Human Anatomy for Artists by Xiao Weichun
Morpho Anatomy for Artists by Michel Lauricella

These are what I've gone with for the goal of drawing stylized illustrations. For manga I'd skip Color and Light

Keep your 100 dollars for a rainy day and just type the name of the book you want into googleand add "scribd" at the end and you can get the book for free.

This.
Or alternatively buy a few decent sketchbooks and a set of different grade pencils, and save the rest of the money for later while you fill up your sketchbooks with copies of your downloaded books.

Find out if your local area has a store that sells old library books. I visit mine about twice a year and I always feel like a fucking bandit with the shit I find in there.

Drawings of Mucha (complete works of Alphonse Mucha), Erte (French fashion illustrator), JC Leyendecker, Bridgman Constructive Anatomy, Offerings (Brom), Animal (a to z of high quality nat geo animal photos), John Singer Sargent (complete works).

$3 each. You can get 3 or 4 new books from a regular bookstore or you can get fucking 30 secondhand books. It's very simple.

Yup. Sorry OP I know you don’t like looking at a screen but buying physical copies of books in 2026 is really not necessary. If I were in your shoes I’d buy sketchbooks and supplies so I could do a fuckton of drawing . Rather be in a situation that I can afford a sketchbook but don’t have a book than had a book but can’t afford a sketchbook or paper

you will use your computer and phone in 2-3 days, and will be angry about 100$ lost.
Just download the books from telegram channel
