These are supposed to be the best of the best. The NSMA is run by Michael Klein, one of the big daddies of figurative painting today (so he claims, I don't buy it). What says you?Link: https://www.newsalemmuseum.com/2026-competition-finalists
Where the FUCK did this artist get a nude reference of me for this painting?
>>7896261Is that you, Alex? It's ok, Divya did her best, but that micropenis just has no fix.
>>7896260this is what you get when you DONT objectify women in your art btw. notice how her tits in that painting are perfectly perky with pink nipples, and they say i focus too much on the tits. what a fucking joke. disgusting, firing squad for whoever the artist is
>>7896271back to beg, brian
>>7896260proportions look off
Lame shit as usual.
>>7896276The dude's head is huge for his body, and one leg is longer than the other. Also, wtf is that composition? Are they being abducted? WTF is he pointing at?
>>7896271Shut the fuck up Brian you utter cunt. I'd take the ugly OP painting over your fingerpainted /beg/ trash any day.
I feel like even Brian could have done better than this fucking idiot here. Who the hell is Ben Fenske?
>>7896289>I feel like even Brian could have done betterdoubt
can you even imagine not being brian? can you imagine what a pathetic existence that would be? I can't
>>7896271Look like perfectly normal tits to me.Yours, on the other hand, have weird highlights on them coming from two different directions. I assume she's sleeping in her bedroom in the night (I have to assume because the environment is so vague) Where are those lights coming from?
>>7896289I kind of like it
>>7896317The subjective nature of art comes in clutch yet again.I kinda like it too anon.
>>7896317what do you like about it?
i might be wrong but the guy looks even smaller than the gal. fucking manlets, i swear
>>7896317I like it too. Reminds me of Gogh
>>7896281the composition/background doesn't matter to these "figurative" artists. that's the problem with the movement. the name they have given themselves defines the works. a lot of the times the poses are exactly as you'd find in life drawing sessions. the backgrounds, if there is one, is often painted with a lot less care because they never bothered to learn anything aside from the human figure.
>>7897127that, and they're a little tacky. I entered this contest and didn't make it to finals.
