Got 0 likes after posting my first drawing after 24 hours. It's so fucking over.

What was the drawing? Sometimes the algorithm is just completely insane on what make things go viral or not
>>
>>7903855
0 likes, as with most if not all first post

just like when learning to draw, getting a following takes time
it could take years even

Happens to me too . How many views are you getting?
>>7903862
If you're getting 10 views or so it won't matter.
>>
Well what the hell do you expect, Homura? I just looked at my first post. Under 10 likes after years even though nowadays I can crack 1-2 thousand semi-regularly.

It appears using hashtags and even keywords is useless in 2026. The age of posting a drawing and sitting back is over. It's more about replying to others and engaging with similar artists to yours in your range of "status". Quality mutuals so to speak. That is to say if you're posting to the void solo leveling from scratch without any pity retweets from anyone out of discord servers.

None of this is new.
Hashtags haven't done shit for a decade except make you look like a boomer or bot if you use them too much. Social media is AIDS but the one true proven way to get noticed is to a) make something people actually want to see (its skillfulness is relevant, but secondary) and b) keep doing this until you reach a critical mass of noticers/followers so your shit can be at least passively seen, even when it bombs.
You are fighting out of your own invisibility initially. Later, if you managed to gain any followers, you are fighting people's goldfish attention span and lack of taste.

I recommend you post for more niche fandoms, they always seek out new art and retweet your stuff. I say niche but it just needs to be not that massive

I speak mostly on Twitter because it's a shit platform. I get no issues with Deviantart, Bluesky, and Baraag.
>>
You're not gonna get organic likes from nowhere. After I post something I usually scroll through some recent art posts and toss out a few likes to other engagement-lets and some of them will got up my profile with a like in return. You don't even have to comment or follow them
>>
I noticed you forgot to post said drawing here

it was a hypothetical situation, I don't actually draw
>>
>>7903855
I liked my own drawing so I got a like :D

Now you draw more, post more, share and post in a ton of places, rinse and repeat.
