What's your opinion on using AI generated images as a reference, is it fine as long as you only use it as a general guide and don't copyfag the whole thing? Should it be avoided entirely or is copyfagging AI images perfectly fine?
>>
slop begets slop
>>
reference your own imagination faggot
>>

Use it if you want, But it may make you a worse artist than those who do not use it and instead engage their brains more.
>>
>>7904132
its the same as using anything else you can find as a reference. You can use a homeless man ODing on the street as inspiration for a drawing, that's a bad thing but the art you create out of your experience seeing it can still be good.

If you mean using AI for technical references (vehicles, machinery, perspective), then I think this won't make things accurate if that's what you're going for.

I did it once while doing style studies by accident, and I mean accident as in I found the pics on pinterest and later found out they were AI. As you can see you can pretty much study in whatever way you like using it, but to be honest, I'd rather find out who's work the AI butchered and sloppified so I can go and study their art instead.
>>
The point of this thread is search engine manipulation btw.
>>
I like to take inspiration from just mindlessly scribbling/connecting random dots and letting my head make up a sort of pattern from it. I'm actually retarded though so it might not help for you.

>Can literally create any image
>Uses it to generate the most generic tranime trash imaginable
Nom creatives aren't human
>>
>>7904132
ah yes, using hands on the opposite hands and 6 figures as reference. brilliant idea op.
>>
>>7904215
I liked the left one better. Felt more "soulful" imo.

this is better than pretending to be Japanese because of not being born as one,

all of the sake of drawing animu slop
>>
>>7904261
Man, jokes aside and all. Your original stuff is not all that bad, have some self confidence and keep drawing, don't get lost in the pessimism, you have some good stuff here.

>le tracing Ai
>it's okay because only I will trace it
As if 3D tracing retards couldn't get more pathetic.
>>
No rules only tools. Use it to get ahead while the gold rush is happening.
>>

>tracing is the same as referencing
>>
I don't trace it or anything but sometimes it's good for springboarding design ideas.
>>
>>7904132
Burn this shit with fire.
>>
>>7904132
As if you're going to use it for "reference".
Was your image referenced too? Oh wait, it's straight up sloppa.
This entire thread is just an excuse for OP to make ANOTHER ai thread.
>>
>>7904267
like it'll matter vs. a Sakimichan slop with 100,000,000 views and 10,000 likes

if I can't compete,
I'll cheat
>>
>>7904132
What you should do is draw first, then look at reference whether it's slop or real refs to recalibrate your work. You can copy AI as you wish just beware that like copying other artists you still have to use your brains in figuring out if something is correct or not
>>
>>7904215
This is bad lol. Take it as someone who tried using sloppa to convert sketch into linework. There's always part of slop lines that gets into the finished artwork and it took twice as long to 'fix' it. Like dude just look at the hatches on her bag. Even normies start recognizing slop because they saw this kind of artstyle too much

AI is the great equalizer between privileged neurotypicals that can visualized in their head and the (up until now) repressed caste of aphantasics. We can't use our imagination to see the vision, instead we can use AI to create it instead.
The neurosloppers fear this.

Based. Grift hard and grift early has been the takeaway from the 2020s. All those griftfluencers who scammed their fans with meme coins got away with it. All the millionaires who took out huge covid PPP government "loans" just to pay themselves never had to pay back the loan.

All the people photobashing/tracing AI are building impressive portfolios, commission bases, and social media followings.

Stop jerking yourself Cris
>>
The AI itself is looking through its own database for actual references, chews a couple of random selections up in a mish-mash, then spits it out on a plate for you. If you want to use AI to create something that isn't common enough for references, it's just going to make shit up and be largely inconsistent and incorrect. You're probably better off skipping the man in the middle and looking at actual references yourself.

No it fucking isn't.

Either go all in and join the slop enjoyers or learn how to draw through toiling and struggling like an actual artist.

>>7905015
yes I agree, I was replying to someone who was suggesting tracing is the same as referencing

> resident AI fag bloviates themselves on why using AI is good
> has the audacity to complain about resource intensive data centers
> having this lack of self-awareness
I hate AI fags so much
